God loves us. Truer words couldn’t have ever been said in the history of the world. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. We as Christians should have this verse engraved into our hearts and set on fire. It explains our salvation in just a few short words. Today we will describe our salvation with Jesus in a condensed version, you should look up what these verses say if you have any questions respond in the comments
THE OLD TESTAMENT
In the Old Testament, it clearly defines what the price for sin is. God had ordered the Jewish nation to sacrifice a spotless, innocent lamb that was only a year old for the sin that you committed in order to be close to God. Everyone was sacrificing left and right but God made a promise that one day he would send a lamb to die for the sins of the world, forever. This way God had promised he would return for his people and he would circumcise their hearts because he said that their hearts were cold and had no blood in it.
THE NEW TESTAMENT
Jesus is the Lamb. Through many prophecies and eyewitnesses, we can say that Jesus truly was the son of God. Because of the events that happened in the New Testament, we can say that Jesus was the Lamb that God had sent to die for the sins of the whole world.
TODAY
Today we can see that Jesus was the son of God through many ways. For one, we could pray to him and hope for a response. God always promises to give us what we need. God also promises that if we have a heart for him, then he will give us our hearts desires. Can you imagine that? An all-powerful God has taken the time and consideration to even look in our direction and give us our hearts desires if we have a heart for him. God truly is a loving God. Prayers sometimes take years to answer sometimes hours, and sometimes he doesn’t give us what we want. But keep in mind that God doesn’t fail. He never has, and he won’t start with you.
For this topic I highly recommend reading John 3:16 – 17.
