How to share your faith with others.

Pray for them

Prayer is absolutely essential when sharing the message of God. God has to prepare the heart of a person, so that way, when you share the message with them, they are ready to hear it. Peoples hearts are changed through the Holy Spirit. We can ask the Holy Spirit to change people’s hearts and attitudes and we can have faith in God that God will enact upon them.

All throughout my life, I have heard stories and been told of times when God answered peoples prayer and supplications. It amazes me the fact that I still doubt God even when he is working at full throttle behind the scenes. I need to have faith in God that God will prevail because he always does.

Read them the Bible

If an opportunity arises, then share with them scripture: scripture is word, that was designed by God. Man cannot make the words that were spoken by God, we are just too bad. The good words that are spoken out of the Bible are words of encouragement, hope, life, water for the soul. So, reading them scripture would introduce those things into their life. Hope that is most likely much needed.

I remember a few times my mom has shared with me scripture and it’s just so unbelievable what it says that I just need to read it myself. Sometimes in the Bible it speaks the exact bit of wisdom that I needed. I just can’t believe what I just heard.

Walk like Jesus

Walking like Jesus means to behave and act the way Jesus Would want us to behave and act. Have you ever heard the expression What Would Jesus Do? Think like that at any time you find yourself doing something that might be a little sticky.

I one time remember I walked into a few bars late at night and I was hanging around my friends who drank and smoke and I looked at myself and I said, “you know, I shouldn’t be here”. I started asking myself, man what would Jesus do in my situation? I don’t want to lose my friends, but I also don’t want to be around alcohol and cigarettes. I came to the conclusion that Jesus would have wanted me to get out of there and go back home. I know that would have been the right move.

So, walking like Jesus also means not cussing, not sagging, having a job, having wife and kids instead of many girlfriends. These kinds of things will also reflect upon why people should be Christian, because it’s just a good life.

Ask them to go to church

If you are at lost for words and don’t know what to say to someone about God, then take them to church. If you feel like you’re under qualified to speak about God, then take them to church. If you just have the itch to invite your friends over to church, then invite them to church. As Christians we bare the truth and the word of God inside us so the first two reasons shouldn’t be the main reason why you take them to church. However, if you are just dying to get someone into your church because you feel like God had called you to do so, then do it.

My mom is bold like a lion. She doesn’t seem to care where or who you are talking to. She will talk to you about God and the hope that God brings into your life: I hope that one day I could be as bold as she is.

When I was a kid, I didn’t know about the “controversies” about speaking in public about God. I just spoke the word of God because it’s holy and righteous and it’s something that needs to be said. When I learned about the controversies of the Bible, then I started to just shut off from society. So, I just never shared the word of God to anyone and that’s not right either.
