How to clean your house spiritually

Spiritually cleaning your house is much more than just dusting off the tables and having a good place to read your Bible. It is asking the Holy Spirit to come and purify your heart; something that is not easily done. Here are some tips to how to clean your house spiritually.

Pray to God (of course)

When we wish to spiritually clean our house, we need the Lord’s help in order to do so. We need the lords help for absolutely everything we do in life: breathing, walking, staying faithful to our Lord, being a good person, etc. etc. So why wouldn’t we need the Lord’s help when we are about to do something that glorifies him?

I remember a few times I have read in the Bible that we are to nonstop pray. I trust in this, because we need God more than we need air. If we breath nonstop for air, then how desperately do we need God?

Turn off the T.V.

I’m not saying that T.V. Is all bad, but usually the shows on T.V. are not shows that we should be watching. Usually the shows on t.v. Are filled with cursing, girls in bikinis, violence, hatred, etc. etc. Ask yourself this, would Jesus watch that? Jesus would not watch those things, for they are of this world not from heaven.

I remember a few times the Bible says that whoever is friend of the world is an enemy of God. The Bible also says that you cannot serve two Gods, cause you’ll grow up to love one and hate the other. This is biblical psychology: this is the psychology that God has stated. I trust this over the psychology that my friends, teachers, or university leaders think.

Turn off the music

I remember I was one time in church, and I remember that the preacher said this, “God speaks in a still small voice, so if you’re always submersed in the world, how can you hear God’s voice?” If you are constantly listening to the world’s music, how are you supposed to hear the still small voice that’s coming from heaven? I’m not saying that God is going to start talking to you like a human being, but i am saying that God will teach you lessons if you really look for God.

Read your Bible

If you really want to spiritually clean your House, then read your bible and apply what is acceptable to God and what is not. The Bible will teach you what are some things that you can have in your house, and what are things that you can’t. It will also develop your relationship with God.

I remember one time my preacher told me that a good place to start reading your bible is in John. After that, you need to read proverbs, and then you can go about and read the rest of the Bible. So I highly recommend anyone to read it in that manner.

Ask your preacher

If you don’t know which way to go, ask your preacher. The preacher is a certified individual who has the word of God in him. You have to have a good preacher though, because if you have a preacher who is worldly, then you will receive a worldly answer.

Don’t let that scare you from your preacher. If you are truly seeking God in your life, God will guide you towards the right church. God will guide you towards the right people, so you don’t have to fear.

Commit

By praying to God, you will have commitment inside of you. God gives us the strength to stay committed to him; therefore, commit to him and you will have done something positive with your life.

I remember a few times my preacher has told us that if we took God the same way that we took our jobs or the same way that we took t.v., then our lives would be so much different then it was today. God would do so much for us in our lives it’s not even funny.
