What is my favorite bible verse and why?

I was told one time that without Jesus, we would be going to hell, and this fact is true. God, being merciful and loving towards humans, decided to send a perfect lamb to die for our sins. The sins of the whole world were forgiven and with one verse, the perfect lamb that was sent from heaven, explained it all. Here is my favorite bible verse and why.

John 3:16

In this verse, Jesus was preaching to a crowd to let them know what glorious thing God has done by sending the perfect lamb to die. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life.” -John 3:16.

This verse is literally saying that just by believing in Jesus, you will go to heaven.

Back story time. When the Jewish nation was sacrificing lambs as part of their deal with God to do so for every sin that they committed, God made a promise that he would send down a perfect lamb to wipe away the sins of the whole world.

Flash forward to Jesus time: Jesus is that lamb, we know so by proof. Jesus is the son of God and he lives. When Jesus died on the cross, his last words were, “it is finished” Jesus said that the work that his father sent was done and now the world can live in freedom. When we accept Jesus in our lives, we become free from sin and Jesus changes our lives.

Our punishment should’ve been eternal hell; however, God wanted to save the whole world from that pain. Because we sin, that separated us from God. So, God made a plan that was perfect that Jesus would come to the world and save us from hell. That was the only way. Because God is so perfect and never fails, Jesus did conquer the cross and death and now we will live forever in Jesus Christ.

Why do I like this verse?

This verse shows Gods unending love. It is the basics of Christianity. As Christians, we should have this verse memorized and engraved in stone. Jesus was the one who said these words. If Jesus, who was perfect in every way, said these words to everyone, then how could we not believe him. The humans have wanted to hear Gods voice for many years and now they have heard what he wants to say.
