The Bible is so full of wisdom that it pains me to have to choose between which book is the best one. I think that every book in the Bible deserves consideration, but let me just share with you my favorite bible book.

Revelation

Revelation is the summary of the Bible. It is the last thing that John wrote to explain to the whole world how the world was going to end. I believe that John thought that the world was going to end during his days but that’s not the case.

A little back story here: Daniel (who was sent to the lions den and came out alive because of God) was a wise young man who God had blessed. God had given signs and dreams to Daniel as to the messiah and the end of the world. Flash forward to John, John was summarizing the book of Daniel because now God had given John visions and dreams about the end of times.

When Jesus died on the cross, Jesus was the fulfillment of Gods prophecies and the beginning of the last age. Some of these prophecies and things that Jesus completes were told by Daniel.

Why is this my favorite book?

This book shows the ending of a long and hard story that is the world. God knows the horrors that go on in this world, but he is so loving and kind that he forgives people and has a happy ending for all of us if we just accept him into our lives. God is not imperfect: God is perfect.

The story of our lives was once a sad one; however; since Jesus died on the cross for us, we can now rejoice because death will no longer conquer us. Because Jesus died, we are now justified in his blood.

A little more backstory here. When the Jewish people were sacrificing to God, they had to make a tent that had a veil in it. And the veil separated men from the holy place to the most holiest of places. In the holiest of places dwelt God. The reason this was this way was because God had to be separate from man because we were full of sin.

Only a holy man could enter into the holiest of places, and it was a long process to become the holiest of men amongst the Jews. Only this holy man could go up to the mountain and ask God for forgiveness for the people.

Why do I say all this? When Jesus died on the cross, the veil was torn. That meant that now we are free to be as close to God as the Jewish men were on the day of asking for forgiveness. God truly is good. This literally marks the end of the world, for Jesus now had come into the world and fulfilled the end times prophecies.

Revelation had all sorts of imagery and visions that Jesus had done these things and that Jesus was the perfect messiah.

My last reason why I love revelation is because it is a happy ending for such a sad story.
