The short answer, yes it can. The long answer, money isn’t a bad thing, it’s the love of money that is evil. When we love money, we do things that we wouldn’t normally do. That ambition can separate us from God because of something that Jesus said. He said, “No man can serve two god’s at the same time for they will either grow up to love one or hate the other. You cannot serve both God and mammon.”
What does this mean? Mammon was the god of the romans for wealth; however, if you put anything before God, that automatically becomes your god. So, if we put music in front of God, then that means that music is now our god and that’s not a good thing. God should be first in line for our priorities. God and God alone can satisfy our thirst, he can provide for us, music can’t; he can love us, music can’t; he has power; music has no power to change your life, if anything good comes from your life just know it was God who thought of it first.
Overall, it’s not bad to have money and God even orders humans to work; however, that shouldn’t be our main focus in life because there are greater things than money that money can’t buy. Money won’t get you a good girl, a good friend, or make you more educated. God orders us to pray to him first before we do anything so that’s what we must do.
