Christianity and drugs

Are drugs good? Are they bad? What is the reason for having drugs in the world? Can God use drugs for good? Let’s start off by saying that drugs in this instance is talking about legal and illegal narcotics and substances. Some of these substances are marijuana, heroin, cocaine, alcohol, tobacco, meth, crack etc. etc. What does the bible say about these kinds of things? Can we use them? Is it better to leave them alone? Should they be legalized to prevent the killlings and the bad things that come with the drugs? Let’s talk about this

Drugs are bad

            Let’s start off by saying that drugs are bad. I don’t care if it’s marijuana, cocaine, alcohol, or tobacco. You should NOT consume them at all because they hurt you at all times. I have friends that are “street savvy” and even they tell me that marijuana, alcohol, and tobacco are addicting. They are addicting. Do NOT let anyone tell you that they are not addicting because they are. This addiction will cause you to spiral down and to be honest with you, it’s likely that you’ll be in and out of mental hospitals treating your addiction for the rest of your lives.

            Let me ask you something. Who is the one telling you that marijuana is O.K. to smoke? Who is the one that’s telling you that cocaine is ok to snort? Is it that guy who is on the street corner trying to sell you drugs? Is it that guy who gets paid everytime that you buy drugs from him? If so, who is the one that’s telling you to not do drugs? Is it that doctor down the street? Is it your parents who love you? Is it your preacher who cares for you? Why are you listening to people who don’t care about you? Why are you listening to the advice of people who won’t be there for you when you end up in the hospital?

Can drugs be good?

            So of course we know that there are drugs that can be used for good. Drugs that are sold by prescription. However, can marijuana or cocaine or even heroin be used for good? I personally believe that the coca leaves from cocaine or the marijuana leaves can be used for good. I believe that God left everything on this earth for a purpose and I believe that God made everything for good. It’s just a matter of researching.

            So, all in all I hope that I have provided some sort of direction to drugs. Drugs should not be used, but I believe that they can be beneficial. I have a dream that one day I would I would make a drug that would get people to drop the drugs cold turkey. Thank you all for listening to me. German Gonzalez, signing out.
