In an earlier blog post I told you guys what was my calling in life. It was very informative as to my life, however, I know that some of you are looking to get the answer from something defined and set. So, let’s go to the one who has our lives in the palm of their hands, God. Before we talk, pray first about it, and after you pray, then read the rest of this blog post. Anyways let’s get into it.
It depends
For different people, God could call you to do different things in life. God could call you to be a writer, a doctor, a nurse, a teacher, a fireman, police officer, soldier, musician, carpenter, wife, husband, student, intellect, inventor, innovator, the list is endless. However, you must ask yourself some questions before you set to go and pursue your destiny. The first question is, how does God tie into my goals and my dreams and what I want to do in life. If you aim to uplift God with what you do, that is something GOOD! I highly recommend using all of your strength and talents to uplift God because God is worthy of our praise.
The second question is does my goal in life bring praise to God. If you aim to be a soldier but your reasons are for vain purposes, I’m sorry but that is something not worth pursuing because of many reasons. For one, you will find that it tastes like ash in your mouth because you are not doing it for a greater purpose. If you do something, do it with all your heart and give it all you got but keep God in mind. Work as if though you’re working for the Lord and the Lord will be the one that blesses you.
A few other questions you should ask yourself is what do you like to do? What are some things you’re good at? Can you go back to school to learn what you want to do? Can you further your career by reading books and training on your own? If you want to go into the military, you could say, what do you want to do when you get out? What do you want to do in the military? What are some things that you wish to get out of the military? The list is endless. But ask yourself the important questions because this will shape what you should do. Sometimes I don’t ask myself what do I like, but rather, what makes me the most money because I look at it like this, no matter what job I go to, there will be something that I do not like about it and I have to learn to appreciate what I have because it’s in reality a blessing from God that I have that job. It really is a blessing from God to have a job and God has blessed me with so many different jobs that now I can honestly rely on him for all of my needs, it’s he who provides for us anyways not us. So, I tell myself, even though it’s a difficult job, I will still do it because I know that the benefits are better than the downside.
In conclusion
So, there are many jobs out there and many things that you could do with your life. You cannot do them all, it’s literally impossible. But you can do the things that you like most. Consult with your parents a lot because they are the ones who will give you the most sound advice. Consult with your counselors or teachers or people who would care about you, it’s necessary to receive advice and I’m by no means a one stop shop to tell you what to do with your life. I know I said to go to God for the first two questions you should ask yourself, but in reality, it’s God who we want to impress. Not man, not ourselves, not the girls or the boss or your friends, it should be God. God needs to be on the priority because he is the one who cares the most about us.
