What to do when your faith is challenged?

In an earlier post, I talked about what to do when you’re faced with temptations. When you’re faith is challenged though, is when you are tested. This is the proving grounds of your Christianity. How committed are you to God, Jesus, what is your decision to this difficult question, what is your response to this statement? All of these and more will pop up when your faith is challenged. We shouldn’t fear because if we fail, God will pick up the pieces. So, let’s talk about what to do when your faith is challenged.

First things first, you need to prepare

            Having the right mindset towards these tests that you’re going to face is very important. So, you should prepare for these tests physically, mentally, spiritually because the more prepared you are to face these tests, the easier it will be for you to go through them.

            A good way to prepare for these tests is to pray and pray abundantly. Praying about your faith will show growth in your faith because now you have more backup helping you to achieve what you want. Say for example me, I am a Christian musician, and I’ll be honest with you guys, the test for me is that I am always wanting to do pop music. However, I know that I need to do Godly music because God would like that. So, I am constantly listening to Christian music, and if I ever astray, then I will remind myself that the music that I’m listening to needs to worship God because he deserves all praise.

            Let’s talk about physically preparing for tests. We need to treat our body like a temple because God dwells in it. We cannot be constantly submitting it to drugs or alcohol because these things will physically destroy us. So, to prepare physically for this, we need to never take drugs or alcohol. This will keep our bodies pure from toxic chemicals.

            Spiritual preparedness is the most important factor in tests. You have to grab a hold of God like its life that you’re grabbing onto. God is life, God gives life to people. So, we need to be strong and our relationship needs to be strong with him. Reading our bible, praying, and going to church are our best ways that we prepare for spiritual tests. In essence, our spirit is tested every single time we are tested because sometimes we fail and start to curse God’s name and blaspheme him, we regret it because we’re Christian, but some Christians don’t go back. To fight these kinds of tests with the utmost of our abilities, we need to pray to God constantly, listen to his word, and adhere to his rules and directions.

What do you do if you fail?

            It’s okay, we all fail, and we all fail a lot, so we just need to pray and continue in God’s word. Do not ever forget about God because God provides for us in every way. When we fail, our determination towards God will keep us coming back. No matter how far you astray, always find a way, to get back to God. Ultimately if we stay permanently away from God, God will call us back again and he always chases after his children in unique and strong ways. So, just listen to him because it’s for the best of us.
