Humans are prone to failing, specifically, failing God. God is always in control, and I say this not to sound like a prosperous Christian but, God has plans for us, grand plans that are awesome, so why can’t we seem to obey God? Obeying God has been a problem for man since the creation of man. Adam and Eve didn’t obey God’s order to not eat the fruit. The Israelites did not obey the order to obey the Ten Commandments, and we constantly fail at becoming more developed people of God. But we have to keep fighting to obey God for a few reasons, here they are.

Because we do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit

What does the word grieve here mean? It means to sadden or sorrow the Holy Spirit. Whenever we sin, it’s like saying to the Holy Spirit that whatever it has taught us is not valuable. This is when we grieve the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, is our friend! The Holy spirit guides us and shows us the correct path to take in difficult situations and teaches us what is right and wrong. Why would we want to make the Holy Spirit sad? I know that the Holy Spirit is God, but the bible teaches us that the Holy Spirit has a personality and it can be sad! Our friend who is so good to us, who loves us, who knows what is best for us, why would we want to make it sad? I know that we all fail from time to time but we must do our best to minimize those times because ultimately it would make the Holy Spirit more satisfied with it’s job.

We want to make God happy

The bible says that whenever a person is saved from hell, the heavens rejoice and the angels dance and sing. How amazing is that? The angels from heaven, the ones who worship God on a daily basis, and the ones whose power comes from the one that has the most power now are celebrating because we have accepted Jesus into our lives.

We want to appreciate what God has done for us

God has done so much for us, that the least we can do for him is obey what he is saying. It’s not like God tells us to do bad things either. God actually only tells us to do good things because he is good. What does God say? Listen to your parents? Obey the law? Don’t kill anyone? Aren’t all of these just things that we should do in the first place?
