Where do I go in life? What do I do next? How do I get started with being a Christian? These are all valid questions that pop in the mind of every Christian when they first start out. It is important to know that God always knows what to do next, so it’s not good for us to worry about what to do next because it is already determined by God. Anyways, here are some tips and knowledge about Christianity for all of you beginners out there, let’s begin.
Jesus is the vine and we are the branches
There was a time when Jesus was preaching to his disciples and he said, “I am the vine and ye are the branches. For without me, ye can do nothing…” What Jesus was saying in this sermon was that we have to abide in him in order for us to reap fruit. We have to know him and love him because we were called to be his children. If we don’t abide in him, yet we claim that we are Christian, then it would be like salt that lost its flavor, useless.
I remember back when I was a kid, I had passion for the Lord. However, I was not on fire for the Lord. I remember all the time I was always thinking about him and what he would want from me in life, but I realized that through my actions, I didn’t love him. I didn’t care for him. I was not Christian. So, as an adult, I have now started to act like a Christian. I gave up my worldly music, I gave up my worldly desires, and I have committed myself to the Lord.
For God so loved the world
If you are new to Christianity, you must be aware of the powerful things that God has done for this world. God, in all of his power and glory, has had mercy on this world. God knows that this world cannot stop sinning, therefore, he sent his son to replace us in the punishment that we so rightfully deserve. God sent Jesus so that he can die for all of our sins. Big sins, small sins, immoral sins, evil sins, whatever sort of sin that you could imagine, God sent his son to die for our forgiveness.
The reason why I say this is because I know that some of you are doubting yourself. Some of you might be saying to yourself, “God could never forgive me for that.” Well I’m here to tell you that you are wrong. God’s love is so much deeper than anything that you could throw at him.
Seek wisdom
Being wise is something that God has ordered us to be. God wants us to work hard, be kind, listen to our parents, and listen to authority, and so on and so on. The first place that you could go to for wisdom is the bible. Specifically the book of proverbs. All of the bible is wisdom, however, the book of proverbs was meant to be the book of wisdom and trust me that it is wise.
I remember when I was a kid, I learned from the bible to listen to my parents. I learned and I did so much in life. Just by listening to my parents, God showed me and guided me to be the type of person that I am. I learned to work hard, practice hard, go to school, learn all the time in life, and so much more. My parents have taught me so much wisdom and all it does is it makes me a stronger, more compassionate, graceful, and good looking person. Not good looking in the sense of oh I get the girls, but rather, good looking in the sense that everyone that I meet likes me and we start to be friends.
Go to church, read the bible, and pray
The first and foremost thing that God wants in our lives is for us to be close to him. So it would be wise to pray to him, read his word, and go to the places where God is very prevalent.
I remember back when I was a kid I prayed to God for a few things, and sure enough, when I grew up some of those things did come true. The things that didn’t come true I know for a fact that God didn’t want in my life, but I couldn’t be more grateful for what God has made me. God gave me intelligence, wisdom, strength, courage, bravery, and the ability to learn. God gave me those things, I didn’t do it. Well guys that’s about it for me. In all essence God wants us to Love him above all else and love our neighbors as ourselves. Jesus condensed all of the laws in that manner. So, do what Jesus taught and you should live life to what God has planned for you. In reality, what God has planned for you is better than anything that this world could ever give you. Thanks again for listening. Be sure to pray, read your bible, go to church, and love God above all else. Like, comment, share, and subscribe. I will see you all next time.
