Being a Christian son

What does it mean to be Christian? It means that you pray, read your bible, go to church, and love God above all else. Does it end there? No it doesn’t because God is infinite. To me, being a Christian means that you have to be the role that you have been given in life. What role is that? Well I play a lot of different roles from musician to worker to brother and finally son. The first thing that I was ever called was a son. I believe that whether it’s a son or a daughter, they both have important roles in life, both just as equally important as one another. The Lord, however, has set me to be a son. Let me tell you what it is like being a Christian son. Ready, let’s begin.

Being a Christian son is wonderful!

            I imagine that being a Christian daughter is wonderful as well, but the Lord has placed me to be a Christian son and I couldn’t be more grateful! As a man, the Lord has blessed me with physical strength and I couldn’t be more grateful for that.

            The Lord has also given me height, I am 6 feet tall. I am so happy with my height, you have no idea how many times I get compliments for my height or people needing someone with height. It is so much fun!

            The Lord has given me a heart that is determined. I have heard often times that dudes my age, don’t want to work, don’t want to go to school, and don’t want to do anything in life except have fun. I’m not saying that having fun is bad, but you also have to get to work as well. I’ll be honest with you guys, I know for a fact that if it wasn’t for God, then I would most likely be in the same boat as they are. I am thankful for the Lord that the Lord has given me a heart that wants good things.  It is the Lord who separates me from the dudes that I’m talking about.

Being a Christian son is smart

            If you’re a son or daughter of Christ, then you have done a smart move. Not only will God bless you with the things that you need and sometimes want. But God will also guide you, move you, shape you, and use you in holy purposes. The Lord never fails and trust me that it is the best way.

            Being a Christian son is an easier way to live. Living in this world is actually pretty rough and it is rougher to be a sinner than it is to be a saint, saint here meaning a Christian not necessarily a saint.

            Sometimes I will go up to my mom and I will tell her that life sucks. She will say something like, “why does it suck?” “Is it because you don’t have a Lamborghini or that million dollar mansion?” and I’m honest with her and I tell her yeah it is! She sometimes looks at me and she tells me don’t get desperate because the Lord gives what is good for us. If the Lord doesn’t give us more money, it’s because he knows that this way is the best way. I trust my mom, no better yet, I trust the Lord when my mom tells me that money isn’t everything.

Being a Christian son is wise

            In the bible the book of proverbs says, “a wise son maketh a glad father, but a foolish man despiseth his mother.”

            Wisdom is God. Wisdom is made by God. Wisdom comes from God. Therefore, if a son is wise, he will have God with him and he will listen to God at all times. How does a son listen to God? By listening to his father. Simple as that.
