What is purity? Purity is to stay away from all of the bad things that there are in the world? Right? At least in this sense it’s what that means. To stay away from adulterants is the more technical term for the word purity. So, what are some of the things that we should stay away from? What are some things that God would like us to do in order to stay pure? Well, today, let me share with you how I stay pure as a Christian, let’s start.

I shield my eyes

When I think of purity, the first thing that comes to mind is being pure in your eyes. Through the eyes is how we lie to ourselves about all of the things that we need to do. I shield my eyes from content that does not need to be in my head.

What are some things that a Christian doesn’t need to look at? A Christian doesn’t need to look at adult content, a Christian doesn’t need to lust after the worldly things and I don’t just mean sexually. I mean a Christian doesn’t need to look at things that would cause them to start desiring or creating lustful thoughts about something.

Say for example this, if you see an album that you don’t have, you don’t need to be looking at it constantly creating a lustful passion for the album because then that is not good and that is not something that God would want for you.

I shield my ears

Music is something so powerful. I think that music influences everyone in positive or negative manners, and I don’t need to listen to music that is harmful to my ears.

I also don’t need to look at movies and listen to what they say because that could harm me. I know that living the life of a rock-star is not something that I need to pursue, therefore, I will not listen to what rock-stars say because that is not something for me.

I also don’t want to listen to influences where it could move me in a way towards the world. I know that it is essential to listen to speeches and it’s almost impossible to avoid them, however, I will choose to listen to the ones that are important and good to me. The ones that support what God would originally support.

I also will not listen to the people who are not Christian. To those atheists and Satanists and all of the teachings of the world I will not listen to it because then I will get closer to God if I only listen to what God teaches.

I’m careful as to where I go

I am careful that I don’t stumble into bars late at night or even at all. I am careful not to walk on the streets all the time. I am careful not to befriend people who are constantly getting into trouble, but rather, I am careful to only befriend wise people who believe what God believes in.

I remember going into school I had trouble going through this because I wanted to be friends with everyone. I was always involved in the wrong crowd and I don’t know it just appealed to me. I guess it was just because of my sin nature. My sin nature decided that I needed to hang out with the wrong crowd.

Now, I am a little more careful as to where I go. Why? Because I learned that it is not good to befriend everyone that you meet. The only one that could possibly do that is God because God created everyone.

Conclusion

In conclusion, I think that there are quite a few ways that someone can stay pure, however, it is a challenge. Don’t look at this challenge in a bad way, but rather, look at this challenge from the perspective of someone who conquers. Someone who loves God with all their heart.
