In the middle of the night (a free verse poem)

The stars shine bright in all of their pride

The sun lights the world with all of it’s power

Yet, you are the force that drives them all together.

Difficult times no one can avoid

For everyone has difficult times

However, I will choose to serve the Lord in every season

Lord you know of the pain that I feel

Lord you know of the struggles that I face

Lord you know of the hurt that I’ve been through

Yet I take it that it’s in your best interest that these things happen to me

Lord you know that I want to serve you

Lord you know that I want to glorify you

Lord I truly do want these things

Lord forgive me for my sins for they betray me

Lord give me hope, for I am a hopeless cause

Lord put it in my heart to show mercy, even to those who hurt me.

Thank you Lord for everything, In Jesus Christ name I pray amen.
