UPDATE ON MY ALBUM

So, there have been some major changes on to what is going on in my album, nothing too drastic, but there are changes that have been made and I’m going to roll with the punches and go with it. Why? Because it’s developing my songwriting and production styles. Anyways, let me share with you all what is going on with my album.

I am improving

            So, for this album, I wrote some songs, but I wasn’t sure if I liked the album. Sure it had it’s strong hooks and talked about God, but I was interested in making a really solid album as my first album. I really wanted to make songs that stood out and hit to the heart really hard. However, my songs weren’t hitting me really hard, I just didn’t feel what I wanted to feel out of my songs.

            Now, my songs are sounding like something that I want to listen to all day. Actually I got one of my own songs stuck in my head and in my heart, it’s getting there, but I feel like the production will be the one to take it to the last step.

            So what does that mean about the album? Well I’ll be honest, I want to scratch everything that I’ve written so far and go with this new material that I’m making. The new material is sounding good, I wouldn’t say that if it wasn’t true. My own sister heard me singing it and she said that my voice sounded great and she gives my song a 9 out of 10. I’ll be honest I trust my sister. I don’t think she’s being nice to me just because I’m her brother, I honestly don’t. if She was being nice to me because I’m her brother, she would’ve given me a 8 out of 10. However, she gave me a 9 out of 10. It’s just brothers intuition. I’m not saying that that’s a hard a fast rule, but I just know it that that would be the case.

Lyrics

            The lyrics are improving as well. Years ago, I bought this book about lyric writing. It’s great if you want to be a songwriter or any type of writer, but I bought it for songwriting. I’m practicing what is in the book, and I’ll be honest, it’s improving my lyrics a lot. I noticed that all the time I’m coming up with great hooks and lyrics for my materials. Material that is useful.

Release date of my album

            I haven’t decided when I’m going to release the album. I’ll be honest again, I’m waiting for two things. I’m waiting for the album to be finished. Right now since I started from scratch again, I only have two songs, they’re not memorized yet, but I have two songs that I’m working on remembering it. Also, I’m waiting for more traffic to my blog and twitter account. I have around 300, give or take, twitter followers, and this is the first month where my blog has received 100 views in a month. So, I’m hoping that my blog will take off within another six months to a year, which is plenty of time to get more twitter followers and write more songs.

            I’m hoping that I can average 10 twitter followers a day, which is conservative, and at the end of the year have another 1800 twitter followers. (I know how to gain twitter followers, I’ve been certified in social media management, however I get lazy with twitter which is why I don’t have a massive following already!) Haha, Twitter is a lot of work, I have to spend hours on twitter just to get 10 followers, it’s hard, but I’ll believe it’s worth it.
