How to be a living sacrifice to God

What is God’s will for our lives? God’s will is perfection. God’s will is that we have a fulfilling life, God’s will is that we may become something good. However, we cannot do this alone. Yes atheists can do good things, but those good things will not save them from their own sins. Also, being a Christian, gives strength to ourselves so that way we can do the impossible, which is to listen to God’s word with every fiber of our bodies. Anyways, God wanted us to be a living sacrifice to him because that is what we are. Sacrifice in the sense of something good. I’m not talking about living a sacrifice as in sacrificing what you like to do for God. i.e. drugs, sex, and rock and roll. But rather treat yourself as a sacrifice to God. Here are some things that you can do to be a living sacrifice to God.

Commit to the Lord

            What are some things that you can do to commit to the Lord? Committing to the Lord means that you set your mind to him. To you, it could mean not listening to that music that curses, it could mean not swearing yourself, it could mean dressing appropriately or stopping those bad habits.

            Whatever you do, do in the name of the Lord for he will give you strength to not do so.

For me personally, I gave up a lot of things to live as a sacrifice to the Lord. I gave up my music, my songs, my life, my friends, lustful thoughts, anger, bitterness, all of these things I gave up because I wanted to serve the Lord with what I am.

            I’m not saying that you have to do the same, however, you have to take in to what are your priorities and what is actually godly. If you find any unrighteousness in your life, if you find any ungodliness in your life, then of course you have to get rid of those sins and commit yourself to the Lord.

            Thrill yourself in the Lord. Enjoy your time that you have with the Lord. Enjoy every moment of being with the Lord because he will help you in your life. Whether that be starting a new business or getting that job raise. Or non-materialistic, getting a good education, having a wife and kids that love God, supporting a charity that you love, all of these things must be approved by God in order to receive them.
