Lukewarm Christian

Have you ever been so passionate about something that it just consumed you? Have you ever done something to the extreme and you were the person that everyone went to when it was time to do that job? Have you ever been the man, or woman, at something? Let’s talk about what it means to be a lukewarm Christian shall we?

The short

            Being a lukewarm Christian means that you are not passionate about God yet you are a Christian. It means that you have accepted God into your life but now you don’t want to grow with him or be on fire for him. The bible clearly states that God would rather have us completely cold or completely hot for him but not lukewarm.

The long

            When we accept Jesus into our lives, this is cause for celebration. Celebration every single day for the rest of our lives. Even though our bodies may perish, we will live in Jesus Christ. Christ died so that way we can be happy with our new lives. Christ died so that way we can live with God forever.

            So, with all of this joy that we now have, why wouldn’t we be on fire for God? God gave his son for us and if we’re not on fire for him, that’s kind of like saying that we didn’t appreciate or at least we didn’t fully appreciate what his son did for us. We do appreciate what his son did for us that is why we must be on fire for him.

            What does it mean to be lukewarm? Have you ever drank some water that is neither cold nor hot? It’s lukewarm. It doesn’t taste good. Cold tastes good because it refreshes the soul, and hot is useful because you cook with it. However, lukewarm is good for nothing. The bible clearly states the God would rather spew us from his mouth if we were lukewarm. That doesn’t mean that God hates us. But it just shows how severe it is to be lukewarm.

So how should we act?

            We must fully embrace being a servant of God. God called us his friends and so we must be his friend by doing what he loves and doing what he wants us to do. We must abandon our own selfish ways and choose God at every single road. We must be on fire for him. If you have any questions, please feel free to pray to God.
