What is sin?

I have been a Christian for 25 some years and I can tell you exactly what sin is. Sin, is something bad that you’ve done. Sin is something that is against what God wants. Sin is disobeying God’s laws. Now, what does that mean for us today? Since Jesus died on the cross and that literally means that God forgives us if we believe in him. Just because God forgives you, doesn’t mean that you should go about and commit every sin that there is. Anyways, let’s talk a little more about this topic.

What is classified as sin today?

            There are verses in the bible that talk about this topic even after Jesus died. In the New Testament, there was a man who had sex with his stepmother and he said, since God forgave me, is it okay to commit these acts? So, the person preaching said no it’s not okay because you are doing wrong against God by doing that. Also, The law is meant to show what is godliness and what is ungodliness. And then there was another person who said do the new Christians have to be circumcised along with the Jews? The same preacher said, No, but how does this make sense because the law states that you are to be circumcised to get into heaven! The preacher said, no and the answer that he said was, why are you putting on a burden that you yourself cannot hold? The law was meant to bring us closer to God but we could not follow the law, so basically it sums down to this, you are to obey God, you are to obey Jesus. Jesus’ greatest commandment was that you are to love your neighbor as yourself. However he also said that you are to love God above all else and also love your neighbor as yourself. Because those are the greatest commandments that God gave us in the first place. So, if we love our neighbor as ourself, we would not steal from them, we wouldn’t hurt them, we would not envy them or lust after them or think anything evil of them. If we love God, we would work hard, we would study hard, we would listen to our parents, listen to the law of our countries in according to the will of God, we would always look for the holy side of things, we would pray, go to church, read our bible, we would submit to God.
