Forgiveness

Why is it important to forgive one another? Why does God ask us to forgive one another? Forgiving one another is just as important to our own well-being as being forgiven by one another. Today, let’s talk about forgiveness and the bible, let’s start.

Jesus specifically says to forgive one another

            In the bible, Jesus speaks directly about forgiveness and he says that we are to forgive one another because if we do not forgive one another then our heavenly father will not forgive us of our trespasses. Bottom line, that’s it, case and point there is no other way around it because Jesus has said it all.

            So the bible tells us to forgive one another but there are some other reasons as to why we should forgive one another. Another reason as to why we should forgive one another is because we all have sinned against one another at one point in time. It doesn’t matter how perfect you are, we all have sinned against each other and we all deserve forgiveness and should forgive.

            Another reason is another biblical reason. The bible specifically states that the one who shows mercy, will be shown mercy. So, show mercy to one another and God will show you mercy along with other people.

            The last reason why it’s good to forgive is because it’s not good to hold on to something that someone did to you 20 years ago. Honestly it’s pretty sad if you are still pouting and crying over that dude who broke your heart. You aren’t the first girl or guy whose heart has been broken, you aren’t the first person at a disadvantage from the rest, you aren’t the only short person or weak, or not tall, dark, or handsome. Don’t be sad over what someone did to you, forgive and move on, it will help you.

I was actually pretty good at forgiving until one day

            So, what happened is that in school, even though there were a lot of bullies in my life, I always forgave and I never looked back. The only time I didn’t forgive was when this girl hurt me.

            Now though, I have prayed to God to forgive this girl and to put forgiveness in me because I don’t want to be in God’s bad side. I want to be a true Christian and I want to forgive her because of the things that she did to me.

            So, forgive and forget all the time and never forget the reason why you are doing so. God forgives you all the time for the bad things that you do, so be like God.
