The ancient history of the bible

You know, I one time was under the impression that everyone thought the same thing about the ancient history of the world. However, I have learned, through college and church, that the way that the world teaches us ancient history can be wrong at times. I know it’s difficult getting out of the habit of referring to monkeys as our ancestors but let’s talk about this for a second shall we?

What the bible says

            If you read the first chapter of Genesis, it actually explains the beginning of mankind. It says that God created man in his image. He created the man and called him Adam and afterwards he created a wife from the rib of Adam and Adam called her Eve for she is the mother of all.

            Nowhere in the bible does it say that we derived from monkeys. Nowhere in the bible does it say that the earth had been living for millions of years from the beginning of the big bang.

            There are some Christians who believe that the big bang could be an explanation of how God spoke the world into existence. How when God said, “Let there be light” that would have enacted a big bang that caused light, however I am not sure that this is correct. I know that God said let there be light and it was so.

            Everything that God had made was perfect. God had even made a garden so that Adam could attend to and eat of the fruits that were in the garden. However, God had one rule and the rule was to not eat of the garden of the knowledge of good and evil for when he would eat that fruit, he would surely die.

            So, Adam took his wife and they lived in the Garden, and they were naked but not ashamed.

            Now the serpent was in the garden and he saw Eve and said to her, “Hast God told you that you could not eat of the fruit from the garden?” and eve said, “No, God told us that we can eat any fruit except for the one of the knowledge of good and evil.” The serpent replied, “Nay when you eat that fruit, God knows that you will be just like him.” So Eve saw that the fruit was good and ate and she went to her husband and gave him the fruit and he ate and then both of their eyes were opened and they were ashamed of their nakedness and went and hid themselves from God.

            When God was walking in the garden, he saw them in the bushes and said, “Why are you hiding?” they said, “We were ashamed of our nakedness.” And so God said, “who told you that you were naked? Did you eat of the fruit that I told you not to eat?” So Adam spoke, “It was the wife that you gave me that told me to eat.” Eve spoke, “it was the serpent who beguiled me.”

            God said “what hast thou done?”

            Then God cursed Adam and said, from now on, you will work with your hands until you die. The ground is cursed and will no longer give you food. Now you will have to work hard for your food. As for the woman, Now you will cleave to your husband and he will rule over you. Lastly to the serpent, he said, and because you have done this, you will forever slither on the ground. It also said some other things about hitting it’s head against rocks. If you ever study snakes, they hit their heads against rocks to shed their skin. (Before this had happened, God had given the serpent feet to walk on. If you ever xray a snake today, you will see that it has small feet hidden underneath it’s skin.)

            That was the beginning of sin, that was the fall of man, that is the reason why we all have sin and we all suffer from bad things. Don’t blame Adam or Eve, God put that curse on mankind because he knew that if Adam and Eve sinned against him in a perfect world, then the rest of us would sin as well.

            According to the bible and bible scholars, God made the world six thousand years ago. Not millions of years ago, but six thousand.

What the world teaches us

            There is a quote from Darwin and even Darwin said this, that his theory on the evolution of mankind is just a theory. It’s not necessarily real, it’s just a theory.

            Darwin basically pitched the idea that we derived from primates. Also, that the world came to existence millions and millions of years ago.

            Today, that is taught in colleges and schools.

            I personally don’t believe it because man has been wrong before and man will continue to be wrong if they deny God’s existence.

            There is a verse in the bible that says, “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom.” If you don’t fear God, then it’s obvious that you don’t have wisdom.

            Now, there is a difference between intelligence and wisdom. Wisdom is knowing what a good girl is, intelligence is knowing calculus. Will calculus get you a good girl? No! Will Physics, give you peace? No, Will money buy you happiness? No there is a difference between Wisdom and intelligence. However, with Wisdom you can obtain riches, you can obtain things, Wisdom is the better thing than intelligence. So if you want something, get wisdom.

            I personally think that this world has too much intelligence and not enough wisdom. We’re intelligent alright, but are we wise? Can we discern was good and bad? Do we chase after the good things in life?  Do we know what good is?

            Likewise, these people that teach Darwinism, I’m not saying that they’re all bad, in fact some of them are Christian because they are forced to teach these things.

            But the people that do it without remorse, I feel like lack a whole lot of wisdom. Wisdom that needs to come from God.
