Faith, what is it? Faith is the perfect plan that God has for all of us regards to the relationship between us and God. We must have faith in God because ultimately that will guide us towards a better life, towards the goals that God has, and towards the good things that there are in the world. On top of the fact that God is perfect, God knows all things, God provides for us, and God is always for us, we should have faith in him because God said so. Bottom line and that’s it. There’s simply no other reason as to why we should have faith in God. Anyways, Let’s talk about faith for a little bit, shall we?

How to obtain faith?

            The bible says in Romans that faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God. This bible verse was written in a time when the illiterate rate was really high. Hardly anyone knew how to read, therefore God made it really easy for anyone to believe in him. He said that faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God.

            There are other things that you can do to increase your faith in him. If you are constantly listening to Christian music, if you are constantly reading the bible, praying, and asking God to intervene in your life, then of course God will undoubtedly give you faith in him.

            Pray to God to give you faith in him and he will most certainly do so.

            Read the bible and learn of all of the true things that God has done for humanity. Read for yourself the things that God has done for you.

Faith, what is it?

            Faith is the hope that something will happen and there is no way to prove that it will happen. Faith is trusting God with all of your heart and not looking back at the perfect plan that God has for you. Faith is believing in God’s word throughout thick and thin and staying true to him no matter what.

            It’s impossible to please God without faith, so have faith in God. Have faith in God that God will be the one to enact on your life and he will most surely do amazing things.

How is my faith as a 25 year Christian

            I’ll be honest here, my faith isn’t what I want it to be. I want my faith to be as big as universes. I want to have faith that doesn’t doubt at all. I want to have faith that God himself would look down on and say, yes this young man has faith. I currently don’t believe in God in some things, yet I am always struggling to believe in him because I know that he is good.

            Let’s get something straight here, God is a good god. God loves, God understands, God knows us. Why would I doubt in God when all that God has done is help me in my life. Everything from the tears and nights that I couldn’t sleep, to my proudest moments, God has done nothing but be good to me, I know that.

            You should not disbelieve in God just because something bad has happened. Just because something bad has happened, it doesn’t mean that God is evil, it doesn’t mean that God fails. We cannot blame God for our own sins. Sins bring consequences and those consequences we don’t like.

            I feel like for the rest of my life, I will always be struggling to improve my faith because I am human. I doubt, it’s part of my nature. I doubt in all of the wonderful things that God has planned for me. I doubt in the fact that God is a good god. I doubt so much of what the bible says and yet every day I wake up and I fight to believe in God more every single day.

            I ultimately believe that God is the one who is putting that fighting spirit inside of me. I fight so hard to believe in God and ultimately it’s something so easy yet I cannot do it.

            Disbelieving in God is a sin. Why? God has specifically asked us to believe in him and trust in his word that the things that he says are true. Yet I am so sinful that I cannot believe in the simplest of earthly things that he says.

Prayer and faith

            When Jesus instructed us on how to pray, he said to pray but with a heart that doesn’t doubt.

Faith and men

            It’s okay to have that doubt in your heart. If that’s where you’re at in life, ask God to give you faith and then struggle every day to believe that God will do so. He will give you faith because he is God.

            I know that faith is hard to have, but every good thing takes work and struggle to obtain. I’m telling you that having faith in God is worth every cent.

            When you first start out in this journey, the first thing that I recommend you on doing is to pray to God for faith because that will start a fire.

            The next thing that I recommend is you reading the bible. Read the bible and figure out what is godly and what is not godly. Ask God to show you the right way.

            Why do I say this? It is because there are so many false teachers and prophets out in this world that the truth can be twisted and used against good. So, figure out for yourself what is true, read the bible, and submit to the word of God on a daily basis.

            Afterwards, I would recommend finding a good bible believing church. Find a church that refers to the bible on a constant basis. Find a church that looks towards God all the time. This will in turn give you more faith.

How to improve your faith over time?

            Keep praying to God for faith, always go back to the bible for more of God’s word and always keep going to church.

Now a word about church…

            We don’t live in a perfect world. We don’t live in a perfect society, none of us. Therefore, you must go to church for God and God alone. If you make some friends along the way it’s fine, however, that’s not the reason why you should go there.

            The commitment to God is what is really important. If you commit to God, things will fall apart in your church, pastors will come and go, tragedies will happen to members of the church, and yet you will always go because you want God not a person.

A word from Proverbs

            “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not wise to your own understanding.”-Proverbs

            Why are we to not lean wise to our own understandings? It’s because God knows that we are foolish. God knows that we don’t know any better. It literally says in the bible that God has pity on us because we don’t even know our left from our right, not those words but you get the picture.

            Do you guys know who said these words? It was Solomon. Solomon, was the richest and wisest man that ever lived in the history of mankind. God promised Solomon that he would be the richest that there would ever be and it was so.

            However, God made a promise to Solomon that he would be the wisest man to have ever lived as well. So, Solomon with all of his wisdom, decided to write a book about wisdom called proverbs. In it he clearly states the importance of being wise.

            Solomon also states the importance of trusting in the lord. In one of the verses, actually in the first chapter, Solomon says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

            In order to fear God, the way that you are supposed to fear him, you need to first believe in him. How can you believe in something that you haven’t seen? It is by faith. The book of proverbs begins and ends with faith in God, do we see how severe it is to have faith in God?

What does the New Testament say about faith?

            The New Testament states, “Blessed is he who has seen and believed, but even more blessed is he that has believed and not seen.”

            Why does it say that? Well it’s because God knows that our faith is really weak. God knows that it is easier for a person who has seen to believe and that it is more difficult for a person to believe in something that he has not seen.

            I say to any Christian out there who is in the rough, God has blessed you from birth because you have believed and not seen, amen to that.

God understands us

            Don’t be surprised when you try and believe in God and can’t. It’s okay because God knows that we are a disbelieving people. God knows that our own sin nature blinds us and that we need him in order to believe in him.

            Don’t beat yourself up over not believing in God, but always strive to believe in him.

What does believing in God look like?

            It means looking at his laws and obeying them! I know that we cannot obey every single law, but we can strive to do our best and do the laws to our fullest extent.

            It means listening to our parents, the bible, our preacher, our teachers, our doctors, the people that actually care about us!

            Having faith in God could also look like praying to him on a daily basis and expecting the things that God has in plan for you to happen.

A word on prayer

            God will not give us everything that we ask for. Only the things that God has planned for us will he give us. Also, if you need anything, just ask God for the things that you need and he will most certainly give it to you.

            The reason why I say that god will not give us everything is because if you ask for something sinful, like say for example 2 girls in the same night, then God will not give that to you because God wants to give us good things and God is holy and God is righteous, so don’t think that he’ll give you everything.

            Another example of something that God will not do for your life. If you want to be a teacher, yet God has planned that you will become a musician, well you’re going to become a musician. That’s just how it is.

            Anything that you’re about to do, always pray to God first about it because ultimately he has to approve of the things that you do. You cannot live your life without consulting God first.

A time that god answered my prayer

            I was a kid and I wanted to become a musician. So I asked god, God can you give me a guitar so I can practice and become a musician? And so, God gave me a guitar when I was 11 years old. And eventually I became a great musician.

            Another time that God answered my prayer. I was in high school one year and I had to take a very difficult end of the year math test.

            Now for this test, they had actually made it harder the year I took because they were trying to see what happens. So, I took the test.

            Now, I had actually gotten D’s and F’s all throughout my time in that math class so of course I didn’t know the material well.

            I did not study for the exam and yet I passed that test.

            90 percent of all students in my county failed that test. My class was the only class in the entire county who everybody passed. 16 students passed and one of them was me.

            I hope that I have been an encouragement and a hope to you guys. I highly encourage everyone to challenge themselves and pray to God today and ask him for more faith in him.
