I know I’ve said this in the past, now I’m saying it again. Children, listen to your parents because they will make you shine. I don’t know how important it is to listen to your parents because their words are like life. Their words will bless you and your hands with all sorts of amazing things, so listen to them. Their words are wisdom that spews without boundaries. If your parents do something and it’s wrong, listen when they say to not do it. Why? Because they’re not being hypocritical, they are just looking out for you because they know what is best. Anyways, let’s talk about this for a second.

I have listened to my parents all of my life

All my life I have listened to my parents, and I can honestly say that they have blessed me from beginning all the way until the bitter end. I am currently 25 years old and I know what this world has to offer, I’ve seen a lot in those 25 years. I’ve seen hardships, bullies, difficult situations, stressful situations, situations that are unneeded, I’ve seen circumstances that only God knows that answers and ultimately, he gives those answers but because I listen to my parents.

I feel like when a kid doesn’t listen to their parents, it’s because they don’t understand just how grave and awesome their words are. Like let’s look at this for a second. I listened to my dad when he said to never give up on anything that I do. However, what does this mean? What can that do for me? Well because I didn’t give up on the things in my life, I learned how to stay committed to things, I learned how to push through pain. I learned that I can do anything with enough work, etc. etc. Now, what would happen if I didn’t listen to my dad? I would never have gotten really good at guitar. I would never have gotten good at music, I would not be good at my jobs, I wouldn’t be good at my commitments, so God has helped me because I listened to my dad.

God knew that this life is all about commitments, and God knew that I needed to learn the lesson that staying committed is of upmost important. So, I thank God for the lessons that I learned all throughout my life. Even though I didn’t listen to a few of them, I am learning and I will always learn from my parents because my parents love me to death.

I am fortunate enough to have parents such as mine. Some parents abandon their kids, I don’t see that in my parents though. My parents never abandoned me. I have messed up plenty of times. Enough times to make my parents want to abandon me. Yet, my parents don’t. They are always supportive of the things that I do and I couldn’t be more grateful for this.

On top of all these things

On tops of all these reasons as to why we need to listen to our parents, we need to listen to our parents because God said so! It’s in the bible that we are to listen to our parents, but we should do it because it blesses God and God ordered us to do so!

Honestly, there would be infinite amount of reasons as to why we should listen to our parents, however, it can be summed up in a few short words, “because God told you so”

Who is God? God is the ruler of the universe. God is the controller of the world, through wisdom he made the oceans and their creatures, through his wisdom he breathed life into dirt, through his wisdom do princes decree justice and kings rule their nation. Why would we not listen to our parents? If God is as powerful as he sounds, why should we disobey him?
