I know for a fact that everyone reading this blog post has made a mistake in their life. I know for a fact that everyone in the world has made a mistake in their life at least once. Mistakes don’t define us, however, if we let them bring us down, it can become something of a sort of vice because now we are letting that control us. Anyways, here’s my tips on how to live with your mistakes.
First and foremost, ask God for forgiveness for your sins
So, when you sin, your first mistake was trespassing against God. When you do a mistake, you ultimately do it against God first and then to yourself and everyone else after that.
The reason why I say that you need to ask God for forgiveness is because this will undoubtedly clear your conscience.
Us humans are such delicate creatures that we need constant attention to our daily lives, and who better to go for attention than our father who is in heaven?
It’s not just that though, we need to ask for forgiveness because it would help us to stop worrying.
When I personally go through a mistake, I personally get this anxious feeling of panic going through my mind. I start to worry about the consequences and I start to think long and hard about the things that I’ve done, it’s horrible!
However, if I ask forgiveness from God, I know that the consequences are still going to come, but I will be given the strength to go through the consequences. God will guide me throughout all of my wrong actions and I can trust that whatever happens next will be guided of God.
Next step, is to forgive yourself
You cannot live a life worrying and thinking and dwelling on the past. You have to be able to forgive yourself from your past mistakes.
I remember one time I read in the bible and it basically said that your flesh is your own worst enemy. Why though? It’s because your flesh is going to betray you, hurt you, and ultimately guide you in the wrong direction.
Therefore, for every mistake that you do, you must commit to a learning point. After you commit to that learning point you must slay your sins in yourself on a daily basis. What do I mean by that?
I mean like, you cannot even let a lie cross your mouth.
Of course we are all going to lie in the future there’s no doubt about that, but trying to not lie and trying to do what’s in the bible, will cause you to slay your sins on a daily basis.
This is a lifelong process, so when you are doing all of this, don’t be scared to trip up or fall because we are all going to fall and trip up.
