Taming the tongue

To be honest with you, taming you tongue is something that will last for the entirety of your life. It is something impossible and continuous but don’t be discouraged because nothing is impossible with God. I learned from an early age that the tongue can actually get you into even more trouble than what you started out as. So, from an early age, I started to develop my sense of self control when it comes to the tongue. Anyways, here is my take on taming the tongue.

You should know not to be so hard on yourself

            You could say one thing to someone and mean it one way to a person and that person could take it a million different ways. So, even though you should be careful as to what you say and think about what you say all the time, just know that even your best intentions could come off as sarcastic or dumb or offensive.

            I actually have this sister and she is bright and intelligent and she’s just a cool person to be around, however, sometimes she says things that just don’t make sense. I look at her and I say things like, what does that mean?  Then she looks at me and she thinks about it and she says oh okay. I come off as sarcastic, however, It’s my fault at the fact that I’m being sarcastic because she’s just asking a question. She’s not hurting anyone and she’s not bothering anyone I just took it the wrong way.

            Likewise with a lot of other people. Some people just twist words around so that way you look bad, some people just hate your guts because you are you, some people are just sarcastic and even though you are saying an innocent thing, they will be sarcastic towards you because that’s them.

Be careful with what you say

            No matter what happens, think and re think and think again what you’re going to say to the person that you’re saying it to. Why do I say this? Because you want to establish good and long lasting relationships no matter where you go right? In order to do that, you have to be careful in the way that you say things and what you say to the right people.

            All throughout my life, I’ve ran into multiple occasions where my mouth has just run into problems and problems that I didn’t need.
