The Christian Lifestyle

How should we live as Christians? Should we live like little angels at all times? Or can we go about the world like regular human beings? Well I’ll be honest here, it’s literally impossible to live a sinless life, however, with God, I’m not saying that it is possible, but we can do difficult things with God. Anyways what should the Christian lifestyle look like? Let’s talk about this for a second shall we?

What does the bible say about the Christian lifestyle?

            The bible speaks a little bit about how a Christian should live, actually a whole lot. A Christian should listen to their parents, go to church, listen to the word of God, do good, find a job, get a wife or a husband, have kids, and spend the rest of their lives just living a life that God wants them to live.

            But that’s the trick, living a life that God wants them to live. God can call you to do a wide array of things in life. From being a computer tech, to being president of the USA. God can call you to be a soldier, God can call you to be a musician, God can call you to do a whole lot of excellent things, but ultimately you have to decide to follow his instructions because when you do that, then you will see that listening to him was the best thing possible.

            If you want to do something, whether that be a soldier or an astronaut, pray to God about it. After you pray to God about it, then consult with the bible to see what the bible says about doing the things that you want to do. If you find that God has called you in a certain direction, pray to God some more and pray over and over again for the things that you want.

Jesus said…

            Jesus said that he prays to God to not take us from this world but rather, that God would just be with us while we travel this world and live the lives that we were destined to live.

            What does that mean? I have seen how some churches will literally go out of their way to get out of the world. They separate themselves from people, they may do extreme things to not get with the wrong crowd, they might do a whole plethora of things and I’m actually not okay with that.

            Now, there is a difference between separating yourself from the wrong crowd. You don’t have to join the crowd that drinks or smokes or does drugs and in my opinion the best way to stay out of that is to be away from that.

            However, the people that I’m talking about will not let their kids watch TV because it could portray evil things, or they might say something evil even in a kids show.

            I’ll be honest here, there are going to be times and places where your child will be forced to sit and put through that nonsense. Are they just going to walk away at work when everyone including the managers are cursing? When they are a waiter, are they not going to serve those people because they have tattoos? No, that’s a literal impossible way to live.

            That’s the reason why Jesus said, to not take them out of the world. If we were to take ourselves out of the world, we’re not doing what Jesus wanted us to do, which is to spread the word to the world.

            I’m not saying to go to the clubs or bars because that’s not what a Christian does either. I’m not saying it’s okay to drink and do drugs, and I’m certainly not saying that it’s okay to go along with the crowd when things are going sideways. But rather, use wisdom to discern what is holy, righteous, and good.
