The things that stick to me most as a Christian

Living on this world has really opened my eyes to the good things and bad things that happen to people. However, there are a few things that stick out to me as a Christian related to the world and everything that goes on in it. Let me share with you some of the grand things that the Lord has taught me in my 25 years of living.

Never give up on God for he has never given up on you

            The number one thing that sticks to my mind is that you should never give up on God because God is good. God is good and God is grand. God knows what we need before we say anything, God helps us, God blesses us, God guides us through the toughest of times and God always has the correct answer.

            I first learned this lesson when I was a kid. I learned to never give up on God because of so many reasons. I learned this lesson when I was faced with a bully. The bully started to threaten me and threaten me to try and hurt me. So, one day, he said, “I’m going to beat you up!” I said, “When?” and he said, “Tomorrow after school!” I couldn’t believe it, I had a death sentence already at six years old and I hadn’t done anything!

            So, I started to pray to God and I asked him to deliver me from this whole ordeal. Sure enough, the bully came and the bully left and I was not bothered again.

I am now going to heaven

            I didn’t deserve to go to heaven. I didn’t deserve God’s mercy. But now, God has seen that I am fit to not only go to heaven but inherit the kingdom which he has promised to his people.

            I remember back when I first heard of the fact that there is a heaven. I cried out for joy because I was hurting inside. I was hurting because everything just seemed so dark and gray. I couldn’t help but cry at night.

            However, when I learned who Jesus was and what he did for me, I couldn’t be more happy!

            I mean, I was a bad person, it’s not that I was bad and I killed somebody because I never did. But I was a sinner on my way to hell and living a sad and miserable life because of it.

            Then, Jesus came into my life and he showed me that all I needed was him.

            All I needed was Jesus, all I needed was to believe in him, all I needed was to have faith that Jesus would redeem me of my destiny and everything would be okay.

            That is something to rejoice about.

I can ask for anything and God will give it to me

            I have prayed and asked God for a whole plethora of things. Some of the things God allows, some of them he doesn’t. But I have learned that no matter what God chooses, he is right.

            Currently I am going through a job situation where I am looking for a job that pays better. I am looking for a job that pays well but I don’t know if my background will stop me from landing that job.

            I’ll be honest, I didn’t always act like a Christian and some of those things got me into some serious trouble.

            However, I know that whichever way that God chooses, will be the right way.

I will refuse to give up on God because God has never given up on me.

            I know that sometimes I won’t get what I want, but I will always get what I need. That’s in the bible.

God has plans for me

            I can confide that God has plans for me. I know that the plans that God has for me are great. I know that he is capable of doing great things and I know that he won’t fail me. It’s just a matter of having faith in him.
