I remember back when I was a kid, I didn’t do too well in school. I didn’t do too well in school because I was honestly scared of being called a nerd. I had been called a nerd all my life but when I was in high school and middle school I was especially scared of being called those names.
However, that’s not the way that God would want us to live. God wants us to live free of all bondage that we have to this world. That fear was a bondage that held me down all the way until I got into college.
When I got into college, I realized that all of the kids that I grew up with were no longer there and as a matter of fact, were trying to get good grades as well. So I stopped caring at that point.
My decisions as a kid affect me all the way until I am older now. Now, I don’t have a scholarship to a top university because I was too scared to chase after my dreams. I don’t have the grades that I wanted because I was too scared to live the life that I always lived.
So the consequences are still here but God prevails. How does God prevail in my situation? How can God give me a second chance at life? Well today I am going to tell you how God can give you a second chance at life.
The gospel
We all look for forgiveness for all of the bad things that we’ve done in life. We all look to have a second chance at what we’ve done in the past. Well I am here to tell you that God is the one that gives those second chances.
Our second chance at life, lies solely on God. I do hope that I am saying this correctly because I don’t want to mislead anyone, but our second chance lies with Jesus.
I remember back when I was in high school, I was desperately trying to improve my writing.
I mean like, I wanted to write well. I wanted to be able to write and write at an expert level. Why? I just had something bugging me telling me that I had to get better at writing.
So, I started my journey.
I will admit that I failed at my improvement in writing. But I didn’t know that I was going to write in a Christian blog years later.
I had failed at the thing that God was going to call me to do. However, God does not fail and even though I failed at what I was going to do in the future, God helped me get through the times that were difficult and he helped me to learn how to write in a blog.
Right now, I am going to college, but I prayed to God to get me in college. I thank God for getting me in college. I hope that one day, I will graduate.
And even so, that’s not what I’m trying to get at.
What I’m trying to say is, my second chance happened because God said it would happen. Honestly guys if it was up to me, I would have been dead long ago. I gave up long ago. However, God consistently gave me more chances and more chances and even though I failed at a lot of them, God helped me to get through some of them and sure enough, I became the person that I am today.
This is where the gospel comes in.
If it wasn’t for the gospel being sewn in my heart, if it wasn’t for the fact that I have God, if it wasn’t for the fact that God had mercy on me, I would not be anything at all. The gospel is the word of God, I had to have heard the gospel at some point in my life in order to be the man that I am today. Thank you God for the things that you’ve done.
