Christian basic beliefs

Let’s say that you have now accepted Jesus into your life, now what are some of the beliefs that I should have a newly found Christian? There are many people who believe in different things all throughout the world, however, we should all know that Jesus is the main focus on all of the things that we do.

            Let’s go over some of the basic Christian beliefs so that we will never faint in the day of adversity.

Our salvation cannot be lost

            The first thing that we should know is that our salvation cannot be lost. Once saved, we are always saved.

            Now that I said that, that does not mean that we are to live a life of ungodliness. Now that we are saved, we are actually supposed to walk with God with all of our hearts and minds throughout all of life’s difficulties.

            Even though it’s true that once we are saved, we will go to heaven, however, God is the one who is looking at our hearts. If you have accepted Jesus into your life, now it’s time to walk with Jesus.

            Walking with Jesus means listening to the law, obeying your parents, being sexually moral, not cursing, etc. etc.

            If you want to learn what is holy and what is not holy, then you need to spend some time with God. Pray to him and ask him to convict you on a daily basis so that way you are always lead in the right direction.

            So, walk in holiness in spirit and in truth and God himself will guide you.

God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit.

            So, God is the father, Jesus is the son, and the Holy Spirit is the spirit by which God does things. They are all one.

 It’s time to put away the old body

            Now that we have been renewed by the spirit, it’s time to put away the old body.

            What does that mean? It means that we are to crucify our sins on a daily basis. Mortify them so that way we can walk with Jesus.

            What happens is that the Holy Spirit is the one that teaches us what to do and convicts us of our sins. What happens is that in the bible, it personalizes the Holy Spirit. In that sense I mean that the bible gives the Holy Spirit a personality. Part of that personality is that it grieves us whenever we do sin.

            The bible says to be careful to not grieve the Holy Spirit because when that happens, something terrible will happen, it will leave your side.

            Then, if the Holy Spirit leaves your side, you will no longer know the difference between right and wrong. I know that this is true.

            The reason why I know that this is true is because there was a point in my life where I didn’t know God. I didn’t know God and I literally broke down one day and said, what is right and what is wrong?

            Then my mom had to explain to me that God defines what is right and wrong, that’s one of the reasons why we must worship him. We literally cannot define right and wrong because we will think that something wrong is completely right.

            At that moment, is when I started to look for God.

            Well, I’ll be honest, I had accepted Jesus into my life but I didn’t know what that meant at the time. So, in a way I wasn’t living a Christian life.

            I actually thank God for giving me all of the things that I have right now. If it wasn’t for God, then I wouldn’t have the guitar skills that I have right now. If it wasn’t for God, then I wouldn’t have this awesome blog that I have right now. If it wasn’t for God, then nothing that I am would exist, I see that now.

            When I was a kid, all I did was do what the bible said to do. It said to listen to your parents and that’s the number one thing that I remember doing. However, I did not know the severity of listening to your parents. I just listened to my parents because I was told that the bible was good and that listening to the bible would benefit me.

Summary

            These are the basics in Christianity. I hope that you all will learn from me, as the lessons that I learned didn’t have to be so hard.
