Short answer, absolutely not! Long answer, When you’re called to be a Christian, you are called to be free. Now, you are free from your bondage of sin. I know that some of you probably see Christians all the time preaching the word, but that’s a gift that was given to those Christians. They feel as if though they were called to go out into the world and actually spread the word of God through words, that’s those Christians. However, that’s not everyone. Let’s talk about this for a second.

God wants you to be free in him

God wants you to be happy. Of course our sin nature causes bad things in our lives to happen, so that’s when sorrow and pain enter into our lives. God would never call you to do something that you wouldn’t volunteer to do.

God could call you to be a multitude of things, being Christian is one of them.

God could call you to be a soldier, Doctor, Writer, Blogger, Musician, Teacher, etc. etc. God has the world for you, but you have to be willing to put in the work in order to become the things that God wants you to be.

Being Christian while being my Job

So, How does that relate to us? Jesus called us to spread the word. It does not mean that you’re supposed to always be preaching to everyone, even though some people do that and it’s fine. Jesus wants us to be happy and it requires wisdom to know when to share the gospel and when not to.

It requires wisdom to share the gospel because in reality, even Jesus said that you’re not supposed to give that which is Holy unto the dogs… In this sense he means, you can’t share with everyone the gospel because God might not have prepared them to hear the gospel already. God works on everyone, and he knows just what to do to get to people, when people reject him is when things start to get bad.

Can I be a Christian and strive to not be a Preacher?

That is completely fine, you can be Christian and not become a preacher, and there are many people out there who do that. Pray to God to give you wisdom on this subject and God will give you wisdom, it honestly takes wisdom to describe the things that I want to tell you.
