What genre should you make your Christian album?

So, the type of album that you create should be something between you and God. I have no say in what type of album that you should make because that is something a little more personal than just me.

            Instead, what I’m going to talk about is the different concepts that you’ll have when you do these different genres. Let’s talk about this for a second.

Rock

            A classic, if you make Christian rock, you could appeal to a younger audience depending on what type of rock you do. However, Rock is slowly becoming more old school and it’s not really too much in the mainstream nowadays unless you’re really influential.

            The type of people that you reach is also going to be different with rock compared to pop or hip-hop.

            I personally love rock. I consider myself a rocker because rock is just so appealing to my ears.

            I’m not trying to say that hip hop and pop don’t appeal to my ears, but I am saying that that has to be my most favorite genre. I too have hip-hop and pop music that I like and as a matter of fact I am slowly turning towards that direction. But as of right now, rock has to be my most favorite type of music.

Hip-hop

            Who hasn’t heard of Eminem, 50 Cent, Wu-Tang Clan, Bone thugs and harmony, Drake, or Lil Wayne? Everyone has heard of these artists can do because their work is a legacy to society.

            True, I do not agree at all with what any of their messages say. but I understand why they have such an influence on people.

            I remember back when I was a kid, I used to listen to Eminem all the time. It was a lot of fun listening to the way that he constructed the lyrics around the rhyme. I actually didn’t hear his earlier work until I was older and I knew about what they meant, but I actually heard the Recovery album first and that album was about recovering from drug addiction and getting through hard times, I didn’t know he talked about all of those awful things.

            The same is true with 50-cent and the rest of the rappers that I just mentioned. I heard the songs that were fun and not talking about killing people or sleeping with multiple women, it’s just that I didn’t know that they talked about those kind of things I just heard the songs that we cool.

            Anyways, if you think that Hip-hop is your way to go, then go for it. Talk about God and use hip-hop to be the genre which you convey your message. The earliest form of pop music was rapping. Everyone used to rap in their songs.

            You can be a Christian Hip-hop artist, just make sure that God is your focal point in the songs.

Pop

            If you do pop, you’ll be a mix of both Hip-hop and Rock. The Rock guitars are always an important factor in music but the drums in Hip-hop is phenomenal. You mix them both together and you have pop music. Pop music is a lot of fun to make.
