I have been called to many things. I honestly don’t believe that God gave me the gift of music for vain purposes. I believe that God gave me music so that I can make music for him. With the gift that I have and the abilities that I have, it’s just impossible for me to see that God did this on accident, he doesn’t do anything on accident. So, let’s go over why I think that I was called to be a musician?

For one, I prayed about it

When I was a kid, I prayed to God day and night to allow me to become a musician. It went years before my God had answered with my first guitar, but my God finally provided my first guitar when I was eleven years old.

However, even I said to myself that I could drop this at any moment, so then I prayed some more. I prayed every time I practiced the guitar and I prayed that I would not drop it and as a matter of fact, I prayed to God if he made me a great musician, then I would use my talents for him. I would write songs for him for the rest of my life.

Years of practice and studying music lead me to think, “This is not my doing, it’s God’s”

Honestly, if you’ve ever tried to play the guitar or any instrument, then you’ll know that it takes hard work in order to do it. You need to practice, practice, and practice some more. It’s hard for me to believe that I had that kind of patience, determination, work ethic, and dedication when I was eleven years old. Day in and day out I sought out how to play better the guitar and I was always improving.

Eventually I became known as the best musician in my entire school. That says something considering the fact that my high school had 2000 kids.

God does not do things on accident

God doesn’t do anything on accident. I do not believe that. I believe that God’s spirit was working inside of me and that my musicianship is a result of prayer, day in and day out of prayer. I also believe that God would  like it if I became a songwriter, he knows that I would give my all in order to make the best Christian music that the world has ever heard.

Right now, I have jobs, I have this blog, I’m going to college and all sorts of blessings that the Lord has bestowed upon me. And I know that he doesn’t want me to treat all of these things in vain.
