The best advice that I’ve ever been given

I have been given a lot of advice in my 25 years of living. I’ve been told to not give up, keep going, don’t give in to temptations, don’t be lazy, etc. etc. But there is one advice that I can honestly say that was the most influential to who I am.

            I have been around the block for years and the number one thing that is the best advice is…

Trust in God with all your heart and do not lean wise unto your own wisdom.

            My mom always said that to me. She repeated that bible verse until I had engraved in my heart. I didn’t quite get it though, I was supposed to wait on God? But I’m pretty sure that God wants me to work at the things in my life too. I am supposed to trust in him? How do I know when it’s him that’s speaking to me?

            But all in all I see why my mom said these things. She said them because she loves me and she wanted God to help me.

            I remember back when I was a kid and I didn’t know any better, I said to myself that I had to trust in God because God is good. I couldn’t explain it, but God is good.

            Today, I know God is good because I see that without God, mankind is completely lost.

            It’s something that you see in the world. Some people think this way, other people think that way, and in the end, no one knows who is right and wrong cause ultimately, there will be a government or leader who thinks that what you’re doing is absolutely right, well it’s not. The only one who has the definitive answer as to what is right and wrong is God.

            Who can argue with God? You can’t argue with God as to what is right and wrong.

            Even if the bible is wrong, you can still have an intimate relationship with God and God would be the one to show you what is right and wrong.

Everything else is second banana

            What do I mean by that? I mean if you just trust in God, everything will fall in place. I trusted God with my music, and he helped me. I am trusting in God with this blog, and I know that he will help me.

            I have trusted God most of my life and when I trust him, is when I have victory in my life.

            I actually like who I’ve become. I am a Christian, blogger, guitarist, writer, songwriter, producer, etc. etc. I see that all of these things were because of God. It had to be. I am all of these things because of God. I thank God for that.

            Also, all the other advice, will tie directly to God’s promises. Let me give you an example.

            My dad always told me to work hard. So, I worked hard in school, music, jobs, etc. etc. However, I wouldn’t have done that if God wasn’t present in my life. If I had thought that I was the big hot shot at 6 years old, then I would’ve not listened to my dad and I would have gave up on a lot of things in life. I would have not listened in school, I would not have persisted through music, I would not have been the man that I am today. I had to have trusted in God in order to become the man that I am today.

            That same principle lies true for any other advice. When your teacher told you to do something, well the bible says to listen to authority in God’s name, meaning that if they tell you to do something against God’s will, then don’t do it. But otherwise, do it.

            Is that not good? Is that something bad? Then you know it’s good.

            I know that God wants you in heaven. I know that Jesus wants you in heaven. I know that God loves you with all his heart. I don’t care what you’ve done in life, you can always start a new leaf and God will be the one to help you.
