Reasons why we need to feed our spirit

Feeding the spirit is health to us. It gives us wisdom and puts us in a position where we can safely trust in God without the risk of doubting him. I’m not saying that you will never doubt because we’re all sinners and we all doubt, but I am saying that you will be closer to God with your faith. Here are some reasons why we need to feed our spirit.

We get closer to God

            We humans are very repeatable beings. We repeat everything that we see. From Videos to words we do it all.

            If we start to put inside of us the word of God, then the word of God will be on our lips. The word of God will shine from our bodies.

            I remember back when I was a kid, I repeated absolutely everything that I heard. Looking back now, some of those things were very offensive and honestly had no reason as to why I should have said those things.

            Sometimes I felt as if though I had justification for saying those things, but honestly there was no justification for any of it.

            I’m actually a little embarrassed at some of the things that I said when I was a kid. However, when I realize that I was a kid and everyone went through the same thing, I remember that it wasn’t that bad.

It keeps our hopes up

            Feeding the spirit is good for our soul. It keeps our hopes up. I know it can get tiring praying every single night, however, for ourselves, we need to pray every single night because our spirit needs it.

            Imagine this, what would happen to you if you just straight up stopped eating? What would happen? You would lose your strength, you would lose your ability to function correctly and if you don’t eat, then you’ll die.

            The same thing happens for our spirit. Our spirit needs constant upbringing and the Holy Spirit to guide us towards doing the right thing. In a literal and metaphorical sense, you will die if you don’t feed your spirit.

            Even modern doctors state that the spirit is very important to the betterment of a patient.

Feeding the spirit means that you have dedication towards God

            If you feed the spirit, then that means that you want God on a whole other level.

            Our flesh constantly wants us to separate ourselves from God, however, if we have that notion to get closer to God because you know he’s right, well then, you should really listen to it because God would want you to be closer to him.

            God knows that you need him more than he needs you, so constantly submitting to his word is going to help you.

            God doesn’t need us to read the bible to live. God is the toughest thing out there. God does not need your help in order to do anything in life. The reason why the bible is here on this earth, is for us.

            The bible and the word of God is meant to teach and show and to get us closer to the one who is eternal. We are not eternal, but God is eternal.
