So, I feel like there is a misconception about a lot of things in life. People think that they can get by on hacks alone. I think that the whole hack concept is something just so fake. I mean like I could give you all the things that you need to do in order to make great music but in the end, it all boils down to practice and dedication to practicing that craft.
With that being said, here are a list of hacks that you can use in your music.
Music production
Music production, along with a lot of other things in music, take a lot of time to perfect. However, there are somethings that you can do to get you on the fast track to making good music.
The first thing is the software. You can actually get free software on almost every DAW that there is. It costs money to get the upgraded versions of those things but that’s besides the matter of fact.
If you are new to producing music, then I highly recommend you look for these things. Free softwares that allow you to create music. You might want to buy and audio interface and some mixing speakers to help you mix though, that’s just me though.
Music theory
There are countless of resources out there that talk about music theory. The first thing that you need to be able to do is to read music. It will make a lot of sense when you read the music.
Here is a hack for you to make your first song. Look up what is the I-V-vi-IV chord progression and make a song using that Chord progression. Let me say that again, that’s the one-5-6-4 Chord progression. Preferably look it up in the major key.
It’s very easy to write a really good sounding song with that Chord progression. Dive into what makes that Chord progression and also how to make your own Chord progressions.
Here is something to make your own Chord progressions. It sounds really good when you have drastically contrasting Chords played right after each other. That’s why the I-V-vi-IV Chord progression is such a popular progression.
However, It also sounds really good if the chords sound alike played right after each other. Try playing a G-Csus2-Em7 with the added 7th and Dsus4. That sounds like a really good Chord progression.
Lyrics are important
I know that we often times get caught up in making the right melodies, however we should focus on making the right lyrics too.
Here is a hack, the beginning part of the verse a talking, more like of explaining what is going on. Then, later on in the first verse use imagery to convey emotion. And finally in the chorus, use explaining language again to talk about what is the main point.
Practice, practice, practice.
If you want to get good at something, you need to practice the mess out of it. There is no substitute for good old hard work. Hard work will get you to the point where you need to get. So, don’t forget to work hard and always keep your head up.
Broadcast
I know that I talked more so about music today, but, if anyone out there needs God, or if anyone out there wants to learn more about God. Then feel free to ask away. I will be happy to respond. Or you can go to God directly and ask God about what it is that is the right thing. God will tell you what to do.
