This is a very good question to ask. I am a musician and I’ve been a musician for a big part of my life. In a previous article, I wrote about mandatory music classes and why I don’t think that it’s a good idea. Today, I’m going to go over why I don’t think that everyone should become a musician, let’s talk about this.

What are you destined to become

I’m not trying to sound too fluffy here, but I do believe that we were destined to become something. It’s not so much destiny, but it’s more so of God’s promise. God wants all of us to become something in life. Whether that’s a police man, a teacher, a scientist, anything, God could call you to become that.

So, with God’s plan in mind, you should strive to achieve what God wanted you to do in a godly way.

I remember I saw the video game Call of Duty. In all sincerity, it is a call to be that kind of person. Not everyone can do what those people do and it’s a rough life to give up yourself for a greater cause.

I know it looks cool in the video games, but in real life, you just wish it would end. Unless of course you are one of those that were called to serve in that manner. Either way, I just wouldn’t take that role lightly and it shouldn’t be played around either.

In reality, everything is a call. If God called you to become a musician, you will be guided towards becoming a musician. No man can stop that. If you were called to become a policeman, God will make you so.

God does not call the qualified, he qualifies the called. So anything that you do, you have to pray and pray hard about it because it could be your calling in life.

What does that have to do with music?

Well, music is a calling. Nothing is easy in life and music is no different. If you want to live your life as a musician, go ahead and God will be the one to provide for you and make you into something great.

I believe that if you have a call for something, then God will make it clear that you were called to do that. Have faith that God gave you the things that are needed in order to become the man or woman that you were supposed to become.

Look at me, I worked out back in high school, I could have done physical things as my job, however, I have skills in music that are beyond recognition. I know the skills that I have.

I’m not trying to brag upon myself. Don’t get me wrong.

But what I’m saying is that God gave me these skills for a reason. It’s not to use them in vain. God gave me these skills so that I can use it for his purposes.

God does not do mistakes

Sometimes I wonder if I made a mistake learning music. I was actually a very bright kid growing up. I was smart in class and I played a few sports growing up. But it wasn’t until the 7th grade that I really got into the guitar.

In the 7th grade, everything kind of went downhill. I was spending too much time playing the guitar and not enough time studying that I was doing bad in some of my classes.

I wonder if I was ever supposed to do anything else besides music. Sometimes I wish I was more educated.

            Then I remember this.

God does not do mistakes. God gave me the guitar at the right time because he knew that I was going to practice it and one day, I was going to be writing songs for him. God knew that.

God gave me all of the musical talent that I have because he knew that I would need it.

Basically

What I’m trying to say is, have faith in God in what’s going on. Have faith that God is the one that’s correct. Have faith that God will be the one who is victorious in the end and not you because God is always victorious.
