The people in my life who have had the biggest impact in my faith has been a few people actually. Ranging from pastors to family members, I have a list as long as the highway with the amount of people that have impacted my faith.
Let’s talk about this for a second
My mom
Besides God having the most impact on my faith, I am assuming that you are talking about human people. In human people wise, the person that takes the cake when talking about who had the biggest impact on my faith has been my mom.
My mom drills God into my head to the point of annoyance. Literally all she ever talks about is God. It literally gets annoying because that’s all she ever advises me of. I know she means good, but can’t she guide me a little bit on where to go, that is after all why I go to her.
However, Often times in the past I have remembered that God always said to listen to your parents. Listening to my parents oftentimes actually meant to pray or go to God.
When I go to God, I remind myself that I’m doing something that God always wanted all along. It’s a win win situation.
My mom was the one who explained to me who God is. Who Jesus is. She was the one who explained to me that I needed to believe in Jesus in order to go to heaven, so I believed.
She often times taught me about God and I couldn’t have been more grateful.
My uncle
I have an uncle and he is actually a preacher. He preached to me my very first sermons and I will never forget that it taught me to believe in God. I just have to believe in God in order to go to heaven.
My current preacher
My current preacher, I’ve known for years. He has preached to me most of the sermons in my life. Through him is how I know about the Holy Spirit. Through him I have a more personal and intimate relationship with God.
I remember when I first started coming to the church that I go to right now that I wasn’t sure if I liked it. It was such an old fashioned church and the strange thing is that my mom asked me what I thought about that church and I said, I like it. She said, well then we’re going to keep going to this church.
So, I kept going to that church and I learned that what that church taught me was true. I liked absolutely all of it.
My Dad
Even though my dad has hardly mentioned God in his life, I have learned that God placed my dad here for a reason.
All my life, my dad has literally taught me nothing but good things. Shave, take showers, do your laundry, work hard, make your bed, never give up, life is beautiful, you’re going to get through this, keep doing what you’re doing, you’re going to make it, be patient, those are literally all of the things that my dad has taught me and you know what, they all align themselves with the bible!
Those are all things that perfectly align themselves with God’s will so not only does my dad teach me that God is right, but he also teaches me that listening to the word of God is health to me.
