Short answer no. Anyone can go to heaven.
The long answer.
As Christians, we believe that anyone can go to heaven regardless of what they’ve done in life. The only thing is that, that person would have to believe in Jesus if they want to go to heaven.
I sometimes share this message with some of my friends. I share with them that all they need to do is believe in Jesus and they will go to heaven. Some of my friends get offended by that and I just don’t understand why.
Like the Good Book states that all you need to do is believe in Jesus and you will be saved from hell? Like how much better could it get than that? Why is that so offensive? Is it because it hurts your pride? Your ego? Is it because you have to be humbled? I just don’t get it.
Anyways, this blog post is meant to give you all the reasons why I think that this statement is true and why anything else is just not even doctrine. Let’s start.
John 3:16
I feel like I don’t have to describe to you what John 3:16 states because I’ve said it all over this blog. However, for those of you who have never seen my blog and are wondering, it states: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten son so that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”
It literally states that whosoever believes in him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
And guess who wrote that? It wasn’t Paul, John, Matthew, or Luke. It was Jesus himself who wrote that.
If you look in some bibles, those words will be in red. In the red letter edition of the bible, the words of Jesus are in red. And those exact words are in red.
If you’re new to Christianity, be sure that it’s John that you’re reading and not 1 John. John is a little before 1 John.
In that verse, Jesus literally states that anyone can go to heaven. All they need to do is believe in Jesus.
1 Corinthians 6:9-11
It’s a little long to say the entire thing but I’ll tell you the jist of it. The preacher preaching was preaching to a group of Christians. And what happens is that they came from all walks of life, some of them doing very shameful things. And he says this, “… and such were some of you, but now ye are washed, ye are cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ and the Spirit of our God.” I’m slightly paraphrasing that because that’s not how it all goes but it is something like that, go read it on your own.
He says that after some of them being Homosexuals, drunks, fornicators, idolators. There were just so many things that all of those people did and he still said that they were able to go to heaven.
I know I didn’t list some of the worst things on here so let me share them.
I know what you’re thinking, “German, I’ve done so much worse stuff than that and there’s no way that God can forgive me.”
Well, I’m here to tell you that God will forgive you if you just believe in Jesus. What’s the worst that you can do? Kill someone? God forgave you for that if you just believe in Jesus. God could forgive you if you did the worst of the worst, I’m telling you it’s true.
Go ahead and name it and God could forgive you for it.
I am not perfect, but God is.
I am not perfect so I could never forgive someone for some of the atrocities that there are in the world. However, God does forgive because God is perfect. God is perfect and God wants to win your heart. All you have to do is believe in Jesus and Jesus will be the one to guide you from there on out.
