I think that this is an excellent question because there are a few bible verses that say things that would cause us to believe in otherwise. The short answer is yes God does allow us to eat meat. The long answer, let’s talk about those bible verses where we don’t know for sure what is God’s will, let’s get started.

A wise man regardeth  the life of his beast

That’s actually a proverbs from the book of Proverbs. Haha!

It’s true that a wise man regardeth the life of his beast, but this is more so for the sense of animal cruelty.

Solomon was trying to give advice on how to treat your animals because he was after all the wisest man in the world.

This is referring to animal cruelty, how some people are very cruel to animals because they are not humans, it’s just not what Solomon thinks is a good idea.

This does not mean that you can’t eat chicken or fish, it does mean that you have to be humane in the way that you raise them, treat them, and ultimately eat them.

There are certain ways that you can kill an animal in a humane manner. God does not forbid the use of animals as a method to eat, you just have to be humane in the way that you do so.

With that being said

With that being said, I know a lot of you are wondering, “But German, the food industry does so many things that are inhumane.”

I know what you’re thinking, however, there are always farmers and businesses that do things the humane way, look around you’ll find some.

God also understands

God also understands the times that we live in, so if you can’t find any food that is humanely treated, it’s okay just do your best and God will do the rest.

The Daniel fast

I know some of you are saying to yourself, what about Daniel? Daniel fasted with only vegetables while he was held captive.

Well, if you want to do the Daniel fast, it’s fine, however, that requires something a little more from yourself.

Giving up meat is not an easy task, unless of course you’re a vegetarian.

If you want to do the Daniel fast, go ahead, but that’s a little harder, just warning.

Should I do the Daniel fast all the time?

No I don’t recommend doing that all the time. Why? Because in  todays society, you will almost starve yourself if you do so.

Also, it’s not necessary. God gets the point when it’s time to get the point. God knows your level of commitment, so say for example if you want to do the Daniel fast, then just do it for however long you can do it and the next time around, go for it again this time try and do it a little longer.
