God never tests us. As a matter of fact, in the bible it clearly states that we are to never say that we are being tested of God. Why? Because God only wants the best things in our lives. I know what some of you are thinking, “But God allows these things to happen so doesn’t that mean that God is the one who is testing us?” well that’s a valid statement and I’m glad that you said that, Here let’s talk about this.

The book of Job

In the book of Job, it actually talks about this a little bit.

Job was actually a really good man. He wasn’t Jewish, but he loved God and eschewed evil. He was actually wondering why so many bad things were happening to him.

Job’s life had fallen into ashes and he was left with a sore sickness on his body.

He stayed faithful to God all the way until he started to complain to God.

What happened is that the devil wanted to test Job. The devil wanted to test Job and find out if Job was actually a believer in God or if Job just believed in God because God had been good to him.

So, the devil actually asked permission from God to test Job. The devil asked permission from God to test Job because he wanted to show God that Job would betray God like any other man. So, God said fine test him, but let him live.

So, then the devil went and destroyed everything that Job had. Job was a wealthy man and he had all sorts of things, farms, cattle and livestock, servants, gold, silver, children. And everything was destroyed. His children died, his livestock and cattle got swept away in a windstorm. His farms were swept away in a windstorm, everything was destroyed.

So, Job held his integrity actually for quite a long time! He said to his wife, shall we love God only in the good and not the bad? Are we none more than the heathens?

So, then Job fell into a depression. Because he couldn’t figure out why all of these bad things were happening to him.

And then his friends showed up at his house and tried to comfort him. Saying that God is good and God will be merciful. God is just, and things of that nature. There was one friend who said that Job had a secret sin that he wasn’t telling everyone about.

And eventually his friends agreed that job had a secret sin.

So, then Job himself said, “Surely I must have done something wrong, but what?”

And that’s when job said, “I demand an answer!” so then God answered.

The bottom line is that we need to have faith in God no matter what happens. Everything will be done according to God. God will be the one to guide us through these dark times. I know it’s rough, but God can and God will get us through the tests of life.

I know that’s a tough pill to swallow, but it’s the truth.

So God doesn’t test us

God doesn’t test us, but he puts things in front of us to have victory over and they can be harsh sometimes but we must stay faithful to God because God will be faithful to us.
