***Hey guys! just letting you know I might receive monetary compensation for the goods and services offered on this blog.***
I don’t know what part of your career you are in, in your Christian music career. However, I know for sure that God wants to use you and your talents to be a great Christian artist. With that being said, here are some things that you can take into account to just know that you are on the right path towards becoming a great Christian artist.
You have a talent for singing or an instrument
Obviously in order to become a Christian musician, you need to be a musician of some sort. It doesn’t matter what God has called you to do in music, whether that’s producing, songwriting, session work or anything else, you have to learn a talent for music in order to become a Christian musician.
I remember once I heard a Spanish saying and it goes like this. “Remember Pray to God always and hitting the sledgehammer at the same time, or something like that.
What this is basically saying is that in order to get the things that you want in life, you need to work hard at it and also pray to God for all of the things.
Therefore, if you want to learn music, start working towards music and you will become a musician.
You need to be a Christian

I know that I am speaking to a group of people who have dedicated their life to God, but I’m also speaking to those who maybe new to the faith and are wondering if God is calling you to become a Christian musician.
The first thing that I must address is that you cannot let anything stop you from serving the Lord. The Lord will always be happy to see you serving him and worshipping him with music.
The second thing is that, as a Christian musician, you face the role of not just playing music, you are a leader in a sense towards the Christians out there.
You will be looked at on stage and off the stage at your personality and also characteristics.
People will want to see that you are someone who they can trust and look up to because after all you are baring the name of Jesus into your profession.
You will be asked to speak regarding religion and you will be asked to defend your faith, therefore, you must be well versed in the bible and the theology that you believe in.
I personally think that there is one way to look at the bible. I do not believe that the Bible can be said and transformed into different manners based on what we like and don’t like.
Therefore, why don’t you do some soul searching and figure out for yourself whether you approve of what is in the bible or not. If you do, well then you are a Christian, if not, well you’re just not a Christian.
You need to have God
Having God is a little different than being Christian. If I say that I’m a Christian, that could actually mean a lot of things. What kind of Christian am I? Am I Baptist? Methodist? Do I have an Ecumenical point of view? What is my belief? These are all questions that you can perfectly ask a Christian and it would be completely normal because there are so many different variations and people who teach different things.
Having God in our lives means that we want God for what he is. All labels aside, we truly want God because he is the supreme being in our lives.
