4 ways to become a happier Christian musician

So, there is a verse in the bible that states, “only a fool wishes that he could die.” And then there’s another verse that states, “the day of one’s death is to be chosen over the day of one’s birth.” I know that both of these verses sound contradicting, however, it’s basically saying that you shouldn’t kill yourself and you shouldn’t want to kill yourself. It’s also saying that when it comes time for you to actually die, just be happy with the life that you’ve lived.

It’s important to be happy with the life that you’ve been given.

            In this blog post, I’m going to share with you how to be a happier Christian musician. I don’t care where you are in life, homeless, jobless, in jail, whatever it is that is going on in your life, go to God about it and he will give you joy.

            Let’s talk about how to become a happier Christian musician.

Don’t stress about the money

            I feel like 90% of all musicians started out wanting to make the big bucks. Everyone wanted to make a lot of money when they first started to be a musician.

            However, I’m here to point out that the reality is that, that’s a rare occasion that you will become a billionaire by the time that you are 25. The real process takes a whole lot more time and effort from all of us in order to amass a following, sell albums, and honestly make good music.

            Here is the reality, the average songwriter in the world, makes around 50,000 dollars a year.

            To be honest with you, it kind of makes sense too!

            Music is a trade and musicians are tradesman in their own way. and that’s basically how much a tradesman makes a year.

            It’s actually not that bad of money, in most places you can live like that and live good too.

            However, I know that some of us want to have a nice house, a car, and then a little extra, so don’t fret! Just keep working hard at your music and you will eventually start making the songs that everyone wants.

            Here is a verse from the bible, “trust the Lord with all your heart and lean not wise unto your own wisdom.” Here’s another verse from the bible, “the diligent hand maketh rich, but the sluggish hand tend only to poverty.” And another one, “honor the Lord with thy substance and with the first fruits of all thine increase and your barns will be filled with plenty and presses burst out with wine.” So, we are to trust in God and if we trust in God then we will donate to the church, in modern terms, and then after that we have to work hard, and then with all of that combined, we will become rich, But do those things! Work hard at those things! And trust that God is the one in control when you do them, trust in him!

Have faith that God will provide

            Sometimes when the bank account is running empty, I just start to wonder to myself, how can God provide this time? I start to wonder and I wonder and somehow, someway, God always manages to provide for me.

            God has an overabundance of food, clothing, shelters, all over the world.

            So, don’t doubt that God doesn’t have a place for you, because he always does.

There is a verse in the bible and Jesus is actually the one who spoke this and he said, “look at the birds in the sky, they neither reap nor sow and yet your father feeds them. How much more does God our father love you? Oh ye of little faith.”

            Jesus is the one who called us, “ye of little faith.” Why don’t we learn from Jesus and try and have faith that God will always provide for us when we need it.

Be content and hungry at the same time.

            When what you have is an apartment, food, clothes, a car, a guitar, and time, what more could you ask for?

            Living the American dream isn’t about driving fast cars, having big houses, and wearing expensive jewelry. It’s about the journey on the way there.

            Even if it takes 20 years, like how it does for most people, the journey is what’s going to matter most when it all comes down to it.

            Always stay hungry to learn a new skill or technique, always be looking for advancement, but work hard at it, do the things that you’re supposed to do, and let God takes care of the rest. Which leads me to my next point.

Pray

            You don’t know tomorrow. Tomorrow, an accident could happen that would render you limbless and therefore you cannot play your guitar anymore.

            Jesus could come tomorrow and you would have been working for practically nothing.

            God could call you up to heaven tomorrow and what point would have been your work then?

            Therefore, do not work to be rich, but rather work as if though you’re working for the Lord and don’t forget to pray to God about your dreams and aspirations.
