I know that some of you are saying to yourselves, “All of these blogging gurus are saying that it depends on a whole bunch of factors as to how long it takes to receive traffic from your blog posts, but can anyone give me a number?”

I get it, you are eager to see change in your blog traffic, income, influence, and growth as a person.

However, good things come to those who wait.

Let’s talk about how long it takes before a blog gets it’s SEO traffic.

            Let’s get started.

Hear me out! It depends

I know you guys want a number to say, “Oh it’s going to take me this long before my blog is something successful.”

However, I would be lying and anyone would be lying if your blog is going to succeed in a specific amount of time.

It depends on the Niche that you’re in, how often you blog, how big your content is each time you blog, how long your site has been active, how many people are liking your content, following you, and how much traffic you already have. It just depends on a whole bunch of things.

If you’re brand new with no followers and zero traffic, it’s going to take time.

I have heard of people who make 10,000 dollars within their first year of blogging in one month. However, nearly all of those people have an extremely active blog strategy.

I mean like they are working 40 hours a week on their blog.

Anytime they work on their blog, they go hard at it.

It’s not impossible either! However, that’s a work dedication that most of us just don’t have or can afford to do.

I mean, kids and people who are professional writers might be able to afford it. However, most of us have jobs and other priorities that just take up so much time, that we can’t invest 8 hours a day on something that has a possibility that it might not work.

If you’re a brand new blogger or writer and you want to develop the skills necessary to start blogging, it takes time.

It took time for me to develop a blog worth having. I have been blogging for about a year and some months now and I still haven’t gotten paid a single dime.

However, I am gaining views and I am gaining followers.

Let’s talk about who I am for a second

Let’s talk about who I am for a second.

First off, I am not a professional writer. I just love God with all of my heart and I was willing to get good at a skill in order to spread the message of God to the world. By the way, I have gotten good at writing.

Second, I am not a professional blogger. At this point, I wouldn’t call myself a beginner either, but I am not as experienced as other bloggers out in the internet.

Third, I did not have A LOT of time in order to invest in this blog. I have college, work, and music that I do. However, now I am investing more time into the blog and I’m seeing positive results.

And with all that being said, I have seen professionals tackling on a blog and they barely make 4,000 dollars a month within their first year. I have also heard from professionals that I am on the fast track to getting those exact same results within two years of starting the blog.

Actually, that’s the main method that everyone does become successful at the blog.

So, I’m not a professional, but I did work hard at it and the results show that I am an above average player in the blogging game because of the stats that I have right now.

And I’m only getting between 100 to 200 views a month.

So, like I said, it just depends.

When I started working at this blog I said to myself, “I’m going to give myself a chance at this blog and work hard at it. I am going to dedicate time into becoming an excellent writer and dedicate time into becoming an excellent blogger. I am going to succeed in this blog because it is something with a purpose and God would like it.” Ultimately, that purpose helped me to muscle through the difficult times.

So, I started to write and I promised myself that I would take my time on this blog even if it meant years because I knew that this blog was going to be worth it.

I started to write every day for 20 minutes a day. I would take around 1 day off per month. Then, I moved into three blog posts a day and that took me to one hour to write. That was around the 6th month. Then I moved it up to 3 hours and 1000 word blog posts.

You see, I was pacing myself. I knew that if I went in “guns blazing” then I wouldn’t have lasted as long as I should’ve lasted. And it’s the right way to do so.

I knew I was climbing a mountain but I wasn’t going to let that stop me from climbing it.

So if you want a hard and fast number, there isn’t any.

A lot of people say that if you do it right, it could take 2 years before you see your blogging efforts come to light.

There are some people who promise you that it would take 1 year if you post a lot of content. I wouldn’t argue against it but that’s the exception not the rule.

I mean with everything, you’re going to have to give it all you got. But sometimes giving it all you got is not giving much at all, at a time.

I’m not saying don’t try and hurry up and learn the things at work, that’s not what I’m saying at all! But what I am saying is, pace yourself, give yourself a chance to learn and you will come out on top in the end.

I am giving myself a chance by doing this blog, so try, don’t make it your life just yet. Don’t quit your day job just yet because it’s still providing for you.

But work hard at the things that you do and ultimately, God will take care of the rest.

So, I know it’s scary, I know it’s a leap of faith, but have faith that God will work alongside you while you write your blog and he will be the one to write your paychecks, have faith in that.

I’m not guaranteeing anything, but have faith in God.
