Ways that you can grow as a person

The world is loaded with ways that you can grow as a person. There is no one that can contest that good bible principles and a good solid foundation with God is a good way to start.

            Some of you are probably wondering, “German what are some practical ways that I can grow as a person?”

            Or how about, “I want to grow with God, what are some ways that I can grow with him?”

            Let’s talk about this for a second.

How to grow with God

            I mean like, there are a lot of ways that you can grow with God. It’s not just 2 dimensional. Ultimately everything that you do in the name of God is a way that you grow with God.

            That’s not saying that you can go out and rob a bank and claim that you did it under God and say that it’s alright, that’s not how that works.

            What I am saying is that if you go out and find a legit job, then work hard in it as if though you were working for the Lord.

            Work hard and seek to please him first above all else.

            And you can do that with anything that you do in life.

            However, I know that some of you want some hard and fast ways that you can improve your relationship with God, let’s talk about that for a second.

Hard and fast ways that you can grow with God

            You have to be solid with the three main things that create the foundation of God, that’s prayer, bible, and church.

            We need prayer to get to know God on a more specific level and to identify his will. We need the bible because he also teaches us his will through the bible along with specific instructions on how to handle certain things in life. Last but not least, we need church because we tend to reciprocate what our friends do because well, that’s our influence.

            If we have a lot of friends who are Christians, then we can safely say that we will reciprocate being a Christian.

            After that, it comes down to just doing everything in God’s name.

            Some of you might say, “Well you don’t need to do EVERYTHING in God’s name.”

            I know it sounds kind of weird at first, but yes it is true that you need to do everything in God’s name.

            However, doing things in God’s way isn’t just saying, “In God’s name we shall do this.” It’s not vainly doing something and thinking to yourself that it’s because God would want you to do it.

            It’s taking the time and dedication to actually learn what is the will of God. How does God want things done? When is it appropriate to get things done with God? What does God want me to do NOW?

            All of these questions should play into effect when doing things for God, so always keep that in mind.

            I’m not saying to do your hair in the name of God, although you should in a way.

            Let me explain it like this.

            You know that you are supposed to get up in the mornings and do your hair for the workday? Right? Therefore, doing your hair automatically means that you are doing it in the name of God. Why? Because it’s the right thing to do.

            The same goes for all of the right things to do in life.

            I know some of you are saying, “What is the right thing to do in life?”

            For that question, you should ask God.

            The reason why I say that is because I know what the right thing to do. However, you don’t know the right thing to do. And it would make more sense if God explained it to you as to what is the right thing to do.

Practical ways that you can grow as a person

            So, to me, I think that growing as a person means that you know to do the right thing and you ACTUALLY do the right thing.

            I know that being a human you are bound to mess up. However, it’s God who helps us up when we fall.

            So, don’t be scared to fall because God is there ready to catch us.

            What is doing the right thing?

            Well you tell me? To me, the right thing could be something different than you, however, there are some things that are OBVIOUSLY the right thing.  

            For example, God told us to love each other like brothers.

            That means that we can’t kill people just because they made us mad.

            Another thing would be that God told us to work hard, you know that it’s right to NOT be lazy.

            Ultimately, all of the important right things to do in life can be found in the bible, church, or through prayer of God.

            The second right things come from solely prayer.

            I’ll give you an example.

            Sometimes God calls us to serve in the Army or be a Policeman. Other times God calls us to be writers and artists.

            Whatever your calling is, Live it, and let God help you to know what your calling is.

            For example me, I’m not called to be a Policeman, however, Some people do it. Some people live it and it’s fine to live it, it’s just not my life to live.

            I personally don’t believe that anyone should become a policeman, but God can call us to live that way.

            Also bare in mind that no matter what you believe, it’s God who is dominating the world. So, live your life and don’t be scared of anything.
