So, there are loads of ways that you can write a blog post. There are a ton of ways that you can write a Christian blog post. Not one of them is the official correct way, however, there are some best practices that you should take into consideration before you do any sort of writing.
Things like topics, writing styles, tone, punctuation, etc. etc. all come into play when writing a blog post.
Today, I will tell you guys how I write a Christian blog post, and why it could benefit you too.
Let’s talk about this.
Disclaimer
I am saying all of these tips with a big disclaimer. If you want to write blog posts for God, obviously you need to have God first in your heart. You have to be praying, reading the bible, and going to church at the bare minimum.
So, I know that I’m not going to discuss those things in here because in this blog post I was going to give practical, hands on knowledge on how to write Christian blog post.
However, just keep in mind that you are supposed to be praying, reading the bible, and going to church.
I didn’t mention that here, but I am saying it now.
With that said, here is the rest of the blog.
Topics
Some Christians believe that Christianity should only be reserved for theology. Other people think that music is an okay manner of expression, and it is!
However when we start talking about art, science, history, or any other form of intelligence, people automatically think that it’s not necessary to do so and that it’s actually not needed in the Christian world.
I personally believe that everything revolves around God.
So, I wouldn’t have a problem with having a painter paint a scene of Jesus and the disciples in modern times.
So, when talking about you topics that you want to talk about, think carefully about what you want to say. Why? Because people will be looking at you with a microscope trying to see where you messed up.
I’m not saying that we can’t mess up, but we should have a solid foundation as to the things that we’re saying.
How to write very niche specific topics
If you know something really well, then the topics should just naturally flow into your hands.
Haha! I say that with a little bit of irony in my voice.
I know music like the back of my hand, however, it’s difficult for me to write about it.
I actually know more about Christianity and writing than I do about music. Which is why it’s so easy for me to write about Christianity.
It’s actually not too hard for me to write about Christianity because my whole life has revolved around God.
Therefore, make sure you know something well enough before you start to write about it.
Styles
Your style will be set by the words that you use, the expressions you write, the lingo you use. In my opinion, for most of the blog posts that you write, you’re going to have to write in plain style.
Now having said that, I know that sometimes we want to write something that is very niche specific.
We want to write this blog post because it would be good and our audience would like it.
Therefore, when you do use the jargon that is associated with that niche, explain the jargon a little bit.
Don’t go into gory detail about how to enhance your SEO. But do say, “SEO is the way that websites get organic traffic. Organic traffic means that they get traffic without having to pay for it.”
Doing so will enhance your readers ability by a lot.
If you ever write something that’s just too heavily concentrated with Jargon and lingo, then it would best be to advise the people who are reading it that, that blog post is for more advanced musicians or artists or cooks or whatever.
Look up ways to enhance your writing
Look up ways to improve your writing. If you can barely write a sentence, then start by writing a sentence. If you can barely use a comma, then look up how to use commas. There is always something to learn about writing and writing is a tool that is essential to our work and life.
