Often times when we think about the temptations of life, we think of Satan leading us down the wrong path. Or, we might think of going through a trial or tribulation. However, there are certain bible principles that we should know in order to respond to the temptations of life.

Let’s talk about this for a second.

How to respond

So, it’s important to understand that everyone goes through temptations in life. Everyone from Jesus to king David has gone through temptations. It’s also important to understand that everyone except for Jesus has failed at those temptations.

The reason why we believe in Jesus is because he didn’t fail at those temptations.

However, there is a way that Jesus showed us is the appropriate way to respond to temptations.

When Jesus was being tempted by Satan himself, Satan tempted him three times with different questions. All of the times Jesus responded with the bible. He said, it is written, it is written, it is written.

That is the kind of approach that we should have towards the temptations in life. We should have God in mind always and we should always be striving to say that the choice of God would have to say that it is written.

How to prepare for temptations

There is something that you should do in order to prepare for temptations and that is to pray to God to deliver you from temptations.

When Jesus was praying and teaching the disciples how to pray, he specifically mentioned in his prayer to “lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.”

He was teaching the disciples how to pray and he specifically mentioned that. Therefore, we must all follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

If you do fall into temptation, there is something that you should do

If you do fall into temptation, the bible says that you are to get back up again and follow the Lord.

The bible literally says that a righteous man may fall 1000 times but he will get back up again.

Therefore, if we fall, we are to rise again.

I’m not calling myself a righteous man, but in this world, you will have to fall at times because we are human and we’re not perfect. Therefore, if we fall over and over again, our literal only option is to get back up.

We have to get back up. We cannot stay on the ground or else we’ll die.

Believe it or not, this is probably the 9th blog that I’ve ever made. And I was not successful in my first few blogs, I was successful at this blog. You do not see me sitting around waiting for someone to give me the money that I need, that’s just not how that works.
