So, this is going to be like a journal entry. I want to update you guys on how I’m doing in life. What are some things that have changed, some things that I’m keeping, and also how it relates to God overall.
Let’s get started.
Exercise
So, what happened is that I saw myself in the mirror one of these days and I said to myself that I’ve gotten too much weight. I am overweight that’s a fact, and I wanted to change that.
I want to have muscle and also be lean and toned at the same time. I don’t want to be fat, I just want to be strong and healthy.
Therefore, I have made the commitment to myself that I’m going to exercise every single day. I’m going to exercise and I’m going to start off with the jump rope.
Why did I pick the jump rope? Well I hear that it’s a great exercise and it’s really cheap to do. All you need is a speed rope and you’re good to go.
So, I got a jump rope and I started my exercising journey today.
I will admit, that I looked up and there’s a technique to speed roping.
I didn’t know the technique and so I started to actually do the technique and it actually came naturally to me.
I loved jumping rope.
I actually fell in love with jumping rope. So, even though I was doing it on and off, I completed my first like 20 minute workout session with jump rope. It was a lot of fun.
I can’t wait until I do it again tomorrow.
I know that there will be days when I might not want to jump rope, but as of right now, I just want to jump rope. HAHA, it’s a lot of fun.
I said to myself, if I can continuously jump rope for a few months, I’ll go back to the gym.
I used to workout. I used to lift weights and run on the treadmill. I could bench press 220, deadlift 200, and squat 200. I was going to start using protein shakes, but I decided that I would not use them and get as far naturally as possible.
However I stopped. The main reason why I stopped was because they cut off the shortcut from my house to the gym, however, I just went back and it’s clear now. So, I might be able to go to the gym in the mornings now. I sure hope that I can go again, I do miss lifting weights and getting stronger.
Why do I know that God would want me to do this?
There are a few bible verses that talk about the body and how it relates spiritually to God. It talks about how we are to take care of the body because the body is the temple of God, it’s the reason why it’s not good to get drunk or high.
There is a bible verse and it’s in proverbs and it states, A wise man will obtain strength for by counsel he will make war…. Or something like that.
So what that bible verse states is basically it’s good to be strong because you don’t know when you’ll need your strength. Also, when you need your strength, it will matter.
God could call upon your strength as a man, but don’t worry, he’ll prepare you for that.
Therefore, with those two bible verses, we can make the assumption that we need to take care of our bodies, it’s strongly implied and literally said.
It’s good to go to the gym. I know some of you are probably saying, “German, people are naked at the gym.” Well they’re not completely naked. But yeah I understand what you mean. And yes in the locker rooms people do get naked.
However I know this for sure, there are some gyms who have solitary bathrooms with showers. There isn’t naked people just hanging out in the locker room. Look for those gyms. Also, if you’re really concerned with seeing half-dressed girls or guys, then go during the time of day when no one is there, 4 in the morning.
However, there are some gyms who stay relatively empty throughout the day. Therefore, look for those gyms. They post their occupancy levels on google or their website.

I sure hope that I have inspired some people to go out there and start working out. I know it’s something that God would want us to do because it would be abiding by his word. If you want to learn more about what the bible says about this subject, then feel free to leave a comment section below.
