Being a blogger, I know a few things about how to grow traffic, making an impact in your community, marketing, and the struggles of having to wait on the traffic to come in.

I get it, we’ve all been there before. Having to wait for a minimum of a year before we start to receive any sort of traffic, and two years before we can start to receive a full time income.

However, with patience and hard work, you too can succeed at your blog.

Let’s talk about this for a second.

Pace yourself

I know that I say this a lot, but give yourself a chance.

What do I mean by that?

I mean that you know for sure that most people can’t start to see traffic on day one, right?

And if you are one of the lucky ones that does get traffic on day one, it probably isn’t a whole bunch of traffic. The traffic that you need and want will come, it’s just going to take patience.

It personally took me 6 months before I saw my first 100+ page views a month. Six months after that, I started to see a consistent amount of 120 + page views a month.

But that’s because I gave myself a chance.

I feel like it takes a little bit of wisdom in order to really understand this. However, the bible says that it takes time to build a good amount of wealth. It does take time to build wealth!

That’s not just saying it from the standpoint of saving money. It also states it as in receiving considerable amounts of money.

Advancing in your career takes time too.

So, give yourself a chance to actually stand in the fight.

Pace yourself, don’t try and go all in from the start, you’ll burn out.

When I first started, all I ever wrote was 20 minute blog posts each day.

Now I write sometimes for 3 hours a day.

Actually work hard at your blog.

The reason why I say this is because I know that there are some people out there who put up like 10 blog posts and then they say that because all the “marketing gurus” are saying you’ll get traffic, then you’ll get traffic in no time.

I’m sorry but that’s not how that works.

There is a channel called Income School on google.

And in that channel, they said that one of the guys who worked at Income School had been blogging for 10 years. He had been blogging for 10 years and one day he made a website, put 30 blog posts on it, and worked at it.

That blog was able to make 4,000 dollars a month and it sold for 70,000 dollars years later.

However, that person had been blogging for 10 YEARS, he knew how to pick topics and he knew how to work.

And still not all of his blog posts received a lot of traffic and not all of them were able to rank for #1.

We are not better than they are.

There is a learning curve for blogging but just take some time to learn how to blog and you’ll be on your way.

If it were me

If I had to start my blog all over again, I would pick a free website builder and build my website on that.

WordPress.com and Blogger are two very good examples of websites that are awesome to build your blog on.

Build your following on there. After you have monetized it (which might take years to get your first check) then consider moving to a self-hosted site.

I can practically hear some people saying, “German that’s not recommended by “gurus” why should I listen to you?”

Well those gurus don’t do things God’s way. God’s way would be to start off small and work your way up.

Those gurus want you to have the best of the best when you first start off because they make a commission off of each sale that they make.

I’m saying to start off small and work your way to the top because that’s the right way.

Broadcast

I sure hope that I have inspired some people out there to start their blog. Blogging is a journey, a blessing, an art, and a way of living. So if you start to write today, you will never regret it because the blessings are so great.

If you want to go to heaven, then believe in Jesus and Jesus will get you into heaven.

Thank you all for listening in on this blog post. I hope that I have been an inspiration and a hope to you all. Please pray, read your bible, go to church, and love God above all else. Like, comment, share, subscribe, and I will see you all next time. German Gonzalez, signing out!
