Work as if though you are working for the Lord

The Lord gave us instructions to work. It makes sense that we do work. But not only for the fact that we should work because God asked us to work. Not only that, God mentions that there are rewards for people who work in the manner that God asked us to work. 

Today, we will talk about what it means to work “As if though you’re working for the Lord.” 

It just means work really hard

I am pretty sure that if i were to tell you to work as if though your boss is watching, you would immediately jump out of your chair and start doing the most insane things that you could possibly imagine. 

Well, God is no different. God is our boss and God is the one that we are working for. 

Sure we can have an earthly boss telling us what to do, but ultimately it’s god who we are trying to impress. 

I remember back when I first read this bible verse, I was actually astounded as to how hard I was supposed to work. 

The entire time I didn’t know that working hard was a good thing. 

However, now that I’ve grown up, I see the value in working hard. Hard work enables you to grow. Hard work enables you to get that promotion. 

And not only that, but hard work is something that you must do for every single thing that you do. Sometimes it’s hard work just trying to get out of bed. Sometimes it’s hard work just showing up to work. 

However, God has the hard worker in mind and rest assured that if you work hard at anything, it will be God who signs your paychecks for you. 

What are some things that you work hard for?

So I know that as of this moment we are talking about hard work as in the work side of things. But actually, you work hard in a lot of aspects in your life.

Take for example your marriage. You are supposed to work hard at your marriage. You are supposed to work hard at keeping your spouse because relationships can get a little hard to maintain.

You are supposed to work hard at keeping your children for the Lord because they won’t always want to follow what you instruct them to do. 

You must fight and work hard to be a decent human being. Sometimes we just want to do the most sinful thing that there is but we must fight the urge to do so.

The most powerful relationship that you can have needs hard work. Your relationship with God. Your relationship with God needs a lot of hard work. You need to read the bible, go to church, and pray all the time.

That’s hard work.

How can we work so hard all the time?

God knows that without him all things are impossible. However, God also states that with him all things are possible. 

All we need to do in order to work so hard all the time, is to pray to God about all of the things that we need help in.
