What should I pray for?

That’s a silly question because the answer is that you need to pray for everything. HAHA! It’s Elementary my dear Watson. You pray for everything that there is. I know that it can get a little tricky sometimes wondering what you should pray for, but rest assured, God doesn’t deny someone who is praying and who wants God in their lives. 

Before we get into this topic let’s take a moment of silence.

If you’re new to this blog, this moment of silence is so that you can pray to God. You can pray to God about anything and everything in your life. Therefore, don’t  be scared to ask God those really dark and intimate questions that you have in your life. 

We all start somewhere in praying to God, therefore, we should start today off by praying to God.

Now time for the moment of silence. Take a minimum of 5 minutes out of your day to pray to God for the things that you need in life.

What do you pray for?

You pray for everything. I know, I know, I can already hear some people saying, “But German, the bible says that the wicked man’s prayers are an abomination to the Lord. How can we know if we are saying a good prayer or a wicked man’s prayer?” 

This is a good point. However, if you’re letting a bible verse tell you that you cannot pray, it would have been better if you didn’t read that bible verse. 

RIGHT NOW I’M NOT SAYING TO NOT READ THE BIBLE. I am saying that you need wisdom to discern this bible verse and it’s probably something that I wouldn’t recommend a new person to start off reading. 

Why? Because when we all start doing something, we are bad at it. Praying can be no different. When we start praying and submitting our lives to the Lord, we are not going to do all of the things right. 

I sure didn’t do ANYTHING right when I first submitted myself to the Lord. But I did not let that stop me from submitting my life for God. 

Don’t let that bible verse stop you from praying or trying

I always say this to people. If you wait for the right moment to do something big, you will never do it. The same is true for when you are going to God. 

When you go to God, you are doing something big. You are not just talking to just anyone in the world, you are talking with the Lord who created the heavens and the earth with his words. 

The one who breathed life into Adam and Eve.

The one who created you and me. That’s who we are talking to. 

But praying to God doesn’t have to seem intimidating either. Because it’s not! God is not going to send a lightning bolt at you just because you didn’t pray a good prayer. If your prayer wasn’t any good, then my prayer won’t be any good either. 

The only one who had the right to tell us how to pray correctly was Jesus, everything other than that is just opinion. 

One man might say that this way is correct, another might say that a completely different way is correct, and then you have millions of people telling you that this way is better and that way is better. It really doesn’t matter how you do it, just as long as you do it. 

Now I’m not saying that you shouldn’t be careful on how to pray because the bible does clearly state on how to pray. 

Here are some tips on praying

1. Pray by yourself.
2. Pray with all sincerity in your heart
3. Pray to God and let all of your heart out on him
4. Pray in accordance to God’s will. (If you pray for God to kill your enemy, he will not do that because that is sin. God cannot do sin.)
5. Pray like Jesus (Jesus taught us how to pray so model his example.)

The ultimate goal in praying is to get closer to God. The ultimate goal of the bible is for mankind to get closer to God. If you think that your prayer is too wicked, then fix it, but start praying to God as soon as possible because God wants to hear from you and your life will never be the same again.

I sure hope that I have inspired some people to start praying today. Remember, a praying man is a strong man, so don’t forget to pray!
