Themes and Topics for Songwriting

Hey guys! So, I’m writing songs and I came to a realization that I need help writing the songs. I want to narrow down the topic to God’s grace, love, and greatness. 

If it could be all three at the same time that would be appreciated. 

At this time, I would like all of us to take a moment of silence and pray for all of the things in our lives. Take a minimum of five minutes and pray for all of the things in our lives.

Themes for songwriting

So first let’s talk about the themes with songwriting. What are my themes that I want to write about? 

The first theme that I want to write about is God’s love and how it’s so essential to the world. 

The second theme that I want to talk about is God’s grace and why Jesus plays the most important role.

The third thing that I want to talk about is God’s greatness and why there is no one like him. 

I have a few topics for each of those themes in mind but you be the ones to help me which topics I should write about.

Topics

The first theme, God’s love and how it is so essential to the world, needs to talk about why God’s love is so great!

How does God show his love towards us? 

Is there anything that we could compare God’s love to so that mankind can understand just how much God actually loves us? 

I know that there really is nothing we can compare to God’s love, but that’s where the challenge is. We must find the words to describe God with the same intensity that is in the bible using imagery, allegory, similes and metaphors. 

We must also be able to use our senses to describe God in order to make a song that truly sounds good and is scripturally sound doctrine. 

This goes for all of the themes by the way not just the first theme that I mentioned. 

The second theme, God’s grace and how Jesus plays the most important role in his grace, needs to show why the lamb had to be slain. 

It needs to include sound bible doctrine to explain the severity of our situation and why Jesus was the one who helped us.

Likewise with the first theme, we need to include Allegory, similes, metaphors, and imagery to explain just the reason for the season.

And last but not least, God’s greatness and why there is no one like him. 

With this theme, I want to say more than there is no one like him. I want to explain that a little bit more because I feel like that statement is overplayed. 

Yes it is true that there is no one like him, but he is God. There are WORDS that can be used to describe just how unique and holy God really is. I mean, there is no one like him? 

God is the Lord, he is so eternal that he was always here and he will forever be here. That’s just how great God is. There HAS to be words that describe more than just, “There is no one like you.”

I know that’s the bible, but let’s get more creative with our lyrics.
